In 1906, a group of business and professional leaders put their heads together to form an ad club, establishing Portland as a leader in the creative business community. 100 years, at least 76 presidents, and three name changes later, the Portland Advertising Federation, now known as the PAF, is one of the strongest ad clubs in the country.

PAF is member inclusive, including all disciplines in communication arts: advertising agencies, media partners (radio, TV, and print), interactive communication, and client-side marketing professionals. Each Executive Director and each Board of Directors makes their mark on the progress and future of PAF. Current Executive Director Jamie Sexton is working with the Board and Executive Committee on an aggressive marketing approach for PAF that includes re-branding, value-driven educational programs, new member development, and outreach to the member community.

Each year, in honor of Portland’s status as the City of Roses, PAF honors the best ad creative work to come out of Oregon. Since the first Rosey was awarded in 1957, the event has evolved into the Northwest creative community’s premier bacchanalia. The emphasis is on showcasing the year’s best creative communications achievements and mingling with the people behind the work. My Bartender is honored to be the exclusive bartending service for the Rosey Awards and Annual Auction events held at various event venues such as the Henry V Event Center, @Large Studios and Refuge.

Since its inception a decade ago, R2C Group® has catapulted to become one of the fastest growing and largest independently-owned advertising agencies in the country. They create award-winning direct response television for worldwide brands, complementing their work with engaging online experiences from e-commerce sites to blogs. Their experienced leadership team is comprised of both pioneers and advertising veterans who share a passion for R2C’s emphasis on accountable advertising.

Clever messages and slogans are dead. Savvy consumers are now in control. Nowadays, when potential customers see an advertisement they research it on the web, read reviews, talk with friends, compare prices and consult social networking media – all before they buy. R2C’s clients need to meet customers on their own turf through innovative channels, relevant content and a solid brand platform. R2C Group®has a unique ability to measure performance, optimize campaigns and meet forecasted ROI, which helps them deliver on the promise of accountable advertising.

In July of 2010, R2C held it’s first corporate “Open House and Client Retreat” at their Portland offices in the Pearl District. Advertising executives from across the country and from virtually all major cable networks were invited for a 3-day gathering to meet R2C staff members, explore their operations, network together and enjoy Portland for all it’s worth. My Bartender provided the first evenings libations with 4 different bar stations set-up throughout their office complex, each one focusing on the unique beer, wine and spirits that are produced right here in Oregon. Attendees were thrilled at the opportunity to sample a vast array of locally produced spirits, micro brewed beers and some of the best quality wines from across the state.

300-plus gay and gay-friendly folks woke up at the break of dawn (okay, noon) on Sunday in support of the Human Rights Campaign and the Portland chapter’s first ever “Gala Brunch” entitled “Bridges to Equality” at the spacious Pure Space in Northwest Portland. It was quite the star-studded affair with the likes of The Tonight Show’s Ross Matthews as one of its emcees —along with PDX radio personality Tara Dublin—as well as speaker John Berry, the director of U.S. Office of Personnel Management (p.s. if you are a federal employee he’s your boss). Other well-known names in attendance included Gus Van Sant, Thomas Lauderdale as well as Courtney Taylor and Holcombe Waller (who performed a beautiful version of the Beatles classic “8 Days A Week”).

My Bartender was thrilled to be a part of this fantastic event providing a full array of delicious cocktails, micro brew beer, wine, champagne and a pre-event Bloody Mary Bar for the VIP lounge that was a huge hit. Many thanks for the generous donations from Honest Teas, Widmer Brothers Brewing, Barefoot Bubbly, and Arbor Brook Winery. All My Bartender staff time was graciously donated for this event (thanks crew!!) as were the bar products, mixers, juices and other beverages.

The benefits of this parents social are immense to say the least and harkens back to the days of true community involvement and really getting to know your neighbors. Many of the parents in attendance are either new to the school in general or new to the neighborhood and would like to know more about their childs classmates and friends. My Bartender was honored to be a part of this annual gathering and would like to thank Erin V. for inviting us to bartend for this wonderful group of parents. We had a terrific outdoor bar set-up on what was a warm summer’s evening. Before the business of school updates took place, parents enjoyed ice cold local beer, red and white wines and our hand-crafted Spanish Coffees made to order.

Our House provides healthcare, housing and other vital services to low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and has been a part of the Portland Community since 1988. HIV/AIDS is a complex and challenging disease that can often be overwhelming. The Our House team of expert clinicians works with people with advanced HIV/AIDS who are having difficulty managing independent living. They tailor services for each individual that defines what “living well” means to them.

The Our House Dinner Series is a great way to meet new people, enjoy incredible cuisine and support the important work of Our House. Dinner at My House for Our House raises money to support the programs and services of Our House. Generous hosts and chefs throw open their homes and restaurants and prepare dinners ranging from beach house picnics to lavish soirees. Dinners begin in mid-July and run through early March and range in size from 6 to 100 guests. Dinner at My House for Our House has become an important source of income for Our House and is one of their largest fundraising events of the year.

My Bartender was honored to be a part of this important fundraising effort at the home of Gary Nelson and Ming Tran in the Tabor Falls neighborhood. Dinner number 14 in August 2010, dubbed Asian Appetite & Tabor Falls Delight was a scrumptious Pan-Asian feast of chicken, noodle dishes, salads, and desserts beautifully presented by Tamara Clark from Marvelous Meals Extraordinary Catering. My Bartender is looking forward to many great years of important fundraising efforts with the Our House Dinner series.

For many, champagne is a critical and highly desired part of their celebration. Whether you’re looking for a simple, single glass toast during wedding party speeches or an elaborate champagne tower to WOW your guests, we’ll take care of it all. Talk with us about your special wants and desires so we can customize our services to meet your needs.

My Bartender carries an enormous selection of sparkling wines from the Pacific Northwest and California wineries that pair well with an endless variety of fresh cuisine items. If true Champagne from France is what you’re after, we carry all of the major producers such as Perrier Jouet, Veuve Clicquot, Moet & Chandon and Dom Perignon. We also carry a wide variety of lesser known but top quality champagnes from Bruno Paillard, Jadot, Nicolas Feuillate and many, many others.

Have you enjoyed the Italian equivilant to champagne known as Prosecco? These slightly sweeter counterparts are becoming big favorites with many people and are usually a bit less expensive in cost but not in taste. My Bartender carries over 20 different brands of Prosecco and would be happy to recommend just the right one for your event.

My Bartender is the only mobile barteding company that is fully licensed by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. Translation: this means we’ve taken the hassle, worry and guess work out of purchasing the alcohol for your event. Any alcohol purchases made through My Bartender are eligible for return of any unopened product. And since we deal directly with every major distributor in the Portland area, we are usually cheaper than most retailers. This means never having to worry if you’ve purchased too much, or worse, not enough. Simply tell us the items you’d like to have available and you’ll only be charged for the actual amount consumed during your event.

So for example, let’s say you plan on serving 2 white wines and 2 red wines at your wedding reception. The big day comes and everyone is enjoying the reception but instead of most guests drinking the lovely wine you’ve supplied, everyone is drinking beer because the weather is so warm. Now you’re stuck with bottle after bottle of wine and have spent way more money than you needed to. If your alcohol purchases were made through My Bartender, that wouldn’t be a problem because you won’t be on the hook for any unopened bottles. We’ll bill you appropriately for only what is consumed with the remainder going back to our distributors. It’s that easy!

Plus, think of the convenience of not having to run all over town to make your purchases…time that could probably be spent on more important things. Oh, and let’s not forget about delivering all of that product to your event. We’ll store and deliver your selected beer, wine and spirits at the appropriate temperature, ensuring your guests receive their beverages at their peak of quality. Now for the obvious – beer kegs are not eligible for return of unused product, however beer by the bottle or can are, so long as it’s by the full case. Wine and spirits can be counted by the individual bottle or case.
