Midnight Sun Brewing Co. has been a staple in the Anchorage craft beer scene for over 20 years. Their best-known brew is the massive, hoppy, and intense Arctic Devil Barleywine.

But they also offer a wide range of other beers, from IPAs to stouts to sours. The taproom offers tasty pub food, including wood-fired pizza and unique appetizers like smoked salmon dip.

They also have live music on select nights and regular special events.

I highly recommend the soup of the day and the Irish coffee. They are both the best in town.

They have a great selection of beers on tap and in bottles. You can’t miss their weekend brunch and eggs Benedict. It’s the best in Anchorage.

It can get pretty crowded, so come early. The happy hour specials are great and have a surprisingly good beer selection.

Koots is also known for its extensive shot list, including the famous “Koot’s Boot,” made with tequila, Jagermeister, and Tabasco. It’s a bar for the adventurous drinker.

One of my favorite combinations is pizza and beer, and Moose’s Tooth has some of the best pizzas in Anchorage and a great selection of craft beers.

I highly recommend their specialty pizzas. They constantly rotate them, but the combinations are to die for. If you’re feeling adventurous, try their Death by Peanut Butter. You won’t be disappointed.


The Blue Fox

The Blue Fox is my favorite cocktail bar in Anchorage. They have an extensive cocktail menu, and their bartenders are experts at mixing unique and delicious drinks.

The Blue Fox also has a great happy hour. Check out karaoke night on Wednesdays and Fridays if you want more fun.
