Easily one of my favorite places to go out, the Fox’s Lair is an unconventional B&B with five rooms you can stay in! It’s a few blocks from the Augusta Museum of History and in the heart of the May Park neighborhood. It’s the definition of a hole in the wall, so pay attention or you’ll walk by it. The vintage and homey vibes are spot-on, perfect for a date night. They have a variety of draft beers, but I always enjoy their classic cocktails!

The Stillwater Taproom is near the Morris Museum of Art and Augusta Convention Center in the Greene Street Historic District. It’s a laidback and playful bar with some of the most delicious draft beers around. They change their taps often, so it’s fun to visit every once in a while and see what they have. The last time I visited, I got the Parish Dr. Juice Hazy IPA and fell in love with the foamy pour and hoppy taste.

Frog Hollow is also near the Morris Museum just off of 13th Street, so it’s easy to spot. It’s a charming spot with an eclectic and refined vibe, making it cozy and upscale simultaneously. The menu is awe-inspiring, with dishes made with locally-grown ingredients. One of my favorite menu items is the duck liver mousse with strawberry red onion chutney, which delivers an astonishing and delightful combination of unexpected flavors. The alcohol menu changes, but they always have stellar bottles of wine available to pair with your dinner.

It has a modern bar vibe with a rustic appeal. I will go to my grave recommending the Whiskey Waffle Fries topped with buffalo bleu cheese crumbles. It is one of my favorite bars to visit when I want a properly poured Guinness, as the bartenders know what they’re doing!

This bar is in the Sand Hills neighborhood beside the Augusta National Golf Club course. As a charcuterie-lover, this spot is a no-brainer for me, as they make some of the most creative and delicious meat and cheese boards. And their innovative cocktails are amazing! They’re always offering new craft cocktails, but one of my favorites was the Finch Mary, a modern take on Bloody Mary with all the right flavors.

If you’re craving an exquisite mojito, The Indian Queen is the place for you! It’s right next to the Augusta VA Medical Center near Daniel Field Airport. They always use fresh ingredients to make their craft cocktails and it’s impossible for me to choose a favorite, so I’ll recommend a few! The Hot Johnny is perfect for winter nights, the Top Shelf Amragrita is my favorite when I’m having a bad day, and the Cool As A Cucumber will immediately refresh and energize you!

Another bar near the Convention Center, this place is on Broad Street and easy to see when driving or walking. It’s a sophisticated spot with sensational craft cocktails and food. I always order their charcuterie and cheese boards, but their bar snacks are also superb, including the deviled eggs! And the Not Your Grandma’s tea cocktail is out of this world, with tea-infused gin and a bright citrus flavor.

This spot is right on the water in North Augusta behind Brick Pond Park. They have a large menu and everything is delicious, but my true love is their smokey wings that are loaded with flavor and have a delightful crunchy texture. They have a variety of draft beers along with some frozen and blended cocktails that are perfect on hot days. Plus, I love their trivia nights!

This funky lounge is near the Morris Museum right on Broad Street, so it’s easy to find. The bar has a moody, speak-easy vibe with lots of seating and some board games available if you want to play with friends. They have hookahs, happy hour, billiards, and more, so it’s one of the most fun places to get drinks. It’s such an entertaining place to hang out and I always get a dirty martini because their bartenders are martini masters!

I love a good brewery, and Savannah River always exceeds my expectations. It’s in East Augusta near Magnolia Cemetery and they offer some fabulous craft beer options. My favorite is their Savannah River IPA, a classic American IPA with a myriad of citrus and fruit flavors that play with the hoppy taste beautifully. And they serve food, so you can fill your belly with their knotty pretzels or chips and salsa!

This bar is between the Augusta University Summerville Campus and Daniel Field Airport. This elevated bar has a super cozy vibe, with leather couches, fluffy pillows, and the friendliest bartenders. I’m obsessed with their loaded tater tots that are savory, spicy, and irresistible. They have over 150 beers on tap, including some truly unique options. I love their Blueberry Cobbler J.R.E.A.M, a smoothie-style sour with a creamy feel and vibrant taste.
