Welcome to their original dining location with a focus on a cozy, warm atmosphere and quality-driven, comforting food along with world-class beers, cocktails, and wine.  They have a beautiful outdoor courtyard and covered patio for extensive outdoor seating and a charming dining room with an on-site brewery.

This is one of the most popular bars in the area, so you’ll be sure to have a good time. I ordered a few drinks, but my favorite ended up being the Peachy Keen.

Stop in any night of the week for dinner, and on the weekends to hear original live music from the best local, regional, and national artists.

I really loved this place, so I’ll be coming back soon. When I was here I ordered the King’s Old Fashioned with Bulleit bourbon, simple syrup, and Angostura orange bitters. Some other drinks that the bartender recommended were the Manhattan, Brass Monkey, or Kalimofo.

An extensive selection of house-made infusions, rare liquors, and farm-to-shaker beverages features fresh-squeezed juices and modern ingredients alongside a menu of light fare.

If you stop by this place, I would recommend trying the Paloma;  Tequila, fresh grapefruit, fresh lime, soda water. Other drinks that caught my eye were the Last Word, Sazerac, and Send Nudes. I’ll be ordering those next time I pop into this spot!

The Griffon

The Griffon was opened in the mid-90’s by two pals looking for a place to kick up their feet with their friends. It was that simple. To this day, that homey feeling still remains. Dan began working for the brothers close to a decade ago and purchased the business from them in 2008.

He vowed to leave the bar unchanged—and the bills that plaster the wall are there to stay. The Griffon is lauded by various media outlets as being a gem to the city. Southern Living Magazine called it “Unapologetically Awesome,” and Maxim Magazine added “Where to Eat, Drink, and Party in Charleston, South Carolina.”

Proof is an intimate craft cocktail bar with extensive wines by the glass list and a real good beer list. This spot served up some of the best drinks I’ve had and was so much fun. I came here with a group of friends and ordered the Gold Rush with bourbon, honey, and lemon. My friends ordered the French 75 and Martinez.

Centrally located in historic downtown Charleston, Husk transforms the essence of Southern food. Husk reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of heirloom products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in the South.

Starting with a larder of ingredients indigenous to the region, Husk responsibly crafts menus, playing to what local purveyors have seasonally available at any given moment.

My all time favorite drink at this spot is the Hornet’s Nest. It comes with Beefeater gin, rhubarb, smoked salt, habañero, orange, lemon, and Rosemary and is absolutely delicious! I also tried the Refresher Course and HUSK Old Fashioned which were equally as good.

Big patio out back with darts, their living herb garden, plenty of tables, and a cozy firepit for those chilly nights.

When I came to this spot my friends ordered The Bee’s Knees, Garden of Eden, and Hill Climber. I went for the Cucumber Gimlet which was absolutely amazing. It’s a cocktail with Effen cucumber vodka, mint simple syrup, and fresh lime juice.
