New Park Tavern is located in the West Side neighborhood of Jersey City, near Lincoln Park. The no-frills bar offers traditional bar grub, beer, wine, and refreshing cocktails.

The bar has outdoor seating on a lovely patio. I recommend trying a pint of Guinness paired with the corned beef plate.


Lucky 7 Tavern

Lucky 7 Tavern is near Downtown. It is known for having a jukebox and a great beer selection. Try the Totchos, a tasty snack of tots loaded with chili, Cheez Whiz, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and sour cream.

The bar shows nearly all of the live NFL football games during the season on Sundays.


Cellar 335

Cellar 335 is situated in The Village. The bar offers international cuisine and tropical cocktails. The bar is set in the basement, and the decor is unique.

My favorite dish is the Pepper Beef with filet mignon and a spicy peppercorn sauce. On the cocktail menu, try the Tropical Princess or the Tiki Derby.


The Archer

The Archer is near Downtown Jersey City. It is a rustic cocktail bar that serves classic cocktails. Try the Haitian Divorce cocktail with rum and mezcal.

I also enjoyed the Martha Stewart with scotch, egg white, and vanilla; it is a perfect dessert cocktail. The Duck Poutine is also amazing!


Low Fidelity

Low Fidelity sits directly on Palisades Avenue. The bar offers original cocktails and Detroit-style pizza. My favorite cocktail is the Emotional Intelligence with mezcal, cacao, lime, allspice, and Angostura bitters.

The Motor City and the Earth First are my favorite pies on the menu.


Pet Shop

Pet Shop is a bar in Historic Downtown Jersey City. It offers wine, beer, and vegetarian dishes.

I recommend the Black Bean Tostadas with refried black beans, lettuce, tomato, crema, house-made salsa, and queso fresco.

The Cabin Fever cocktail with rye whiskey, Montenegro, lemon, smoked maple syrup, and ginger beer is delicious.


Pint

Pint is in the middle of Jersey City. The bar is known for fishbowl cocktails and a great beer menu with over fifty brews.

Happy hour lasts until 7:00 pm daily. Try one of the Ducked Up Cocktails with a collectible rubber duck on top. There are new ducks every month!


Barcade

Barcade is a great spot downtown that has craft beer and games. The lemon basil hummus and deviled eggs are tasty bar snacks.

Also, try the marinated steak taco. The Mai Thai Spritz is my favorite cocktail with rum and prosecco. Also, be sure to play a game of Asteroids.


Six26 – Lounge and Rooftop

Six26 Lounge is in the Powerhouse Arts District. It’s a contemporary gay bar with a rooftop lounge.

The kitchen offers American cuisine, and every weekend, there is a drag performance and music from famous DJs.

Visit on Mystery Mondays for discounted specialty cocktails and half-off well-mixed drinks.


Cherry’s Lounge

Cherry’s Lounge is just off Bergen Avenue in Jersey City. Leroy Cherry was the owner and sole proprietor of the bar until 2000.

Cherry’s Lounge has a breakfast menu with eggs, grits, and bacon. Cherry’s Lounge also offers catering. Also, order the lemon pepper wings as an appetizer for lunch or dinner.


Porta

Porta is in the Powerhouse Arts District. The bar is a vibrant pizzeria serving Neapolitan pies, plates of pasta, salads, cocktails, and craft beer.

My favorite cocktail at the bar is the Red Door with orange cognac liqueur, triple sec, pineapple juice, and sparkling red wine. Also, try the carbonara pizza.


RoofTop at Exchange Place

RoofTop at the Exchange Place is located in Paulus Hook. The venue serves American fare and creative cocktails in a trendy space with a retractable glass roof and outstanding skyline views.

Try the Green Tea Long Island Vodka with gin, white rum, green tea lemonade, and lemon-flavored simple syrup.


O’Leary’s Publik House

788 Garfield Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07305

O’Leary’s Publik House is near Berry Lane Park and is open until at least 2:00 am. Try a Sex on the Beach or a Dark and Stormy.

I would also recommend ordering a basket of cajun fries or chorizo grilled cheese. The bar is a casual place to have a fun and relaxing time.

902 Brewing Co. is located near Garfield Avenue and is open daily to the public. Try the Heaven Hell or Hoboken IPA or the Juicy City NEIPA.

The beer selection is delicious, so I recommend sampling as many as possible! You can also buy four-packs to take home.


WÜRSTBAR

Wurstbar is adjacent to the Powerhouse Arts District. A fantastic bar that serves various sausages and beers in a rustic space with a distinctly German flair.

Try the German Bratwurst or Smoked Kielbasa with kraut, mustard, pickled onions, and relish. I also enjoyed the Green City IPA.

The bar, dullboy, is a neighborhood favorite. The bar is very hip with a brick-walled bar. The kitchen serves unique takes on classic American dishes.

My favorite cocktail is the Ophelia with Angels Envy Bourbon, tea, clove, pineapple, and lime.

Ed & Mary’s is a bar that feels like visiting an old friend. It is a comfortable hangout and a great place to catch up with friends or family.

The bar is located beside Hamilton Park. Try the Honey Butter Brussel Sprouts or the Turkey Pesto Panini. I also enjoyed the peach-flavored High Noons.
