The Spirit Room
139 State St, Rochester, NY 14614
The Spirit Room is a meeting place, created by artists for artists. They are working-class misfits, queers, and witches who seek to disrupt and subvert the inherent class and gender biases that dominate the craft cocktail culture through community engagement, live performances, and radical dialogue.
I really loved this place, so I’ll be coming back soon. When I was here I ordered the Boulevardier with bourbon, Campari, sweet vermouth aged on charred wood. Some other drinks that the bartender recommended were the Dark Shadows, Prospector, or Resurrectionist.
Solera Wine Bar
647 South Ave, Rochester, NY 14620
Solera is Rochester’s first wine bar, focused on a consistently rotating selection of exciting wines by the glass and an extensive reserve bottles list. They lean towards smaller production, family-owned wineries from off the beaten regions, and producers.
Wines that have a personality, a story, and a sense of place. Wine, beer, and snacks are served in a cozy, and stylishly old-world atmosphere.
Smash Room at Recreo

Their unique smash room offers an experience for groups or individuals who want to destroy cars, electronics, or glassware inside a room while listening to music of their choice. Their smash room is unique because they’re the only smash room in the world that serves alcohol.

A relaxed, cozy atmosphere that bridges the gap between casual and fine dining. The Vesper is a great place for a date, a special occasion, and also a place to just hang with friends. They’ve cultivated a neighborhood feel in a downtown establishment.
We had so much fun at this place! My friends ordered the Manhattan and Singapore Sling, and I opted for the Figueroa. My drink came with Fig vodka, raisin, smoke, and molasses bitters.
