Our Favorite Sacramento Bars for a Fun Night Out

Some call it Sac, Sacto, or Sactown, but I prefer the River City because that’s what Sacramento, CA is to me. Nothing makes me more relaxed than the adventurous sunset walks along the Sacramento and American rivers once I’m in town.

Located just half a mile from California State Capitol Museum, The Snug is my go-to joint for delicious cuisines and high-end cocktails. Their pizzas and hamburgers are great, and I can never get enough of their dirty martini.

Socal’s Tavern

5200 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819
Phone: (916) 455-1646
Visit Website

Socal’s Tavern is located in East Sacramento, nearby Hotel Med Park and California State University Sacramento. It’s the perfect spot for your daily happy hour from 4 to 6 pm.

Socal’s Tavern gave me a divey vibe during my visit. Though this pub first opened its doors in the 1970s, its history goes further back to the 1920s when The Corner Club stood in its place.

As such, this place has been a popular destination in Sacramento for the past century, and given the quality of cocktails and service overall at Socal’s Tavern, I can only see that run lasting even longer.

Final Thoughts

Popularly known as the City of Trees and the Farm-to-Fork capital, Sacramento is the perfect destination for California tourists.
