One of Planter’s House’s unique twists is its cocktail naming conventions. When I first saw names like “Someone Stole My Car” and “It Wasn’t My Fault,” I found them humorous, but they’re also delicious!

The cellar helps transport you into the speakeasy, a type of establishment that had to hide its activities during prohibition.

The Get Down promotes itself as the best dive bar in town. With its renovated interior and large patio, it hardly counts as a dive bar.

But you still get those dive bar prices! The best thing I tried was their Area 69 cocktail, a delicious mix of tequila, cucumber, lime, and jalapeño. If you’re near Forest Park, The Get Down is a must-try!
