A hidden gem of the Stapleton Heights neighborhood, The Coupe provides one of the best places to go out in the area. The setting here is moody, almost reminiscent of a modern speakeasy. Cocktails are the specialty here, especially strong drinks using spicy rye whiskey. If you prefer a more refreshing option, I recommend this bar’s rendition of the classic Gin Fizz.

If you’re looking for fun places to get drinks with a more relaxed atmosphere, head to Joe Broadway’s in Mariners Harbor. There are plenty of things to do here, like darts and billiards. The two-level sports bar serves beer alongside comfort food. The wings are award-winning and come in several different flavors. My favorite was the Sriracha Teriyaki!

A few blocks away from Bayonne Bridge, folks head to Lacey’s to enjoy a laidback and homey vibe. I loved the family-style dining for dinner, which is a great way to share delicious food with your party. Lacey’s also offers fresh seafood and a raw bar. One of the best bars Staten Island offers if you’re hungry and thirsty!

A cozy, casual spot across from Tompkinsville Park, this brewery and tap room focuses on one thing: great beer. Though there are numerous options on tap, including some non-beer options, I highly recommend trying options brewed on-site! Stouts, IPAs, and ales are all available, but the stand out to me was their Super Acai Sour!

Liedy’s Shore Inn is a local favorite close to the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Garden. This spot is an excellent choice if you’re wondering where to get a drink while listening to live music! The historical building hosts bands and doesn’t charge a cover. This bar has been providing a relaxed spot for drinks since 1902, and it is a must-stop for music lovers.

Another great option in the Tompkinsville neighborhood, Craft House doubles as a BBQ spot and beer garden. My favorite bite here was the Roasted Corn Dip, a spicy and cheesy combination perfect for dipping chips. It was easy to spend time in this modern but relaxed tap room with delicious food featuring beer from the local Kills Boro Brewery!

One of the best bars Staten Island has in the Port Richmond neighborhood, Mother Pug’s Saloon is a dive. The dimly lit area and funky decor make this a great place to catch local bands. The relaxed vibe here stood out to me the most, but the bar also has a great selection of beers!

Another amazing Staten Island bar for eating and drinking, Pier 76, serves drinks and an Italian-inspired menu. Enjoy freshly baked pizza in the North Shore area, just a short walk from the National Lighthouse Museum. There’s a full bar here, but I recommend pairing your pie with one of the many craft beers served here.

Ralph’s sits atop the tallest area of Staten Island on Todt Hill. The sports bar has a classic look you’d expect from a traditional bar with brick walls and sports memorabilia. What sets Ralph’s apart is the extensive menu of bar favorites and steaks! They also have a large selection of specialty drinks, like my favorite from the bar, the CranSlam.

Another Staten Island bar in the Port Richmond neighborhood, just a short distance from the Staten Island Zoo, Doc Hennigans, only opened in 2019. Since then, it has quickly become a local hotspot for good eats and custom cocktails. My favorite was Sweet Child O’Mine, a dessert drink with peanut butter whiskey, chocolate liqueur, and Irish cream.

Griff’s Place is a local bar in the New Dorp Beach region of the island, serving up traditional bar food alongside brews and spirits. This a low-key and relaxing place to catch the game after a day of exploring the nearby boardwalk and beach. This spot stays open late too, so it’s perfect for night owls like myself.

Staten Island’s Dongan Hills neighborhood is home to Lee’s Tavern, a local bar specializing in pizza and beer. The vibe here is very relaxed and homey, which makes sense since this establishment is family-run. If you stop by this bar, I recommend trying the Italian Shredded Pork pizza with peppers and onions.
