Moe’s & Joe’s

1033 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306
Phone: (404) 873-6090
Visit Website

Moe’s and Joe’s is the epitome of a college bar, serving pitchers of PBR at their location west of Emory University since 1947.

I’ve been stopping by for years, and nothing ever changes.

It is an excellent choice because the beer is cheap, and the wings are the perfect food to inhale after you get a buzz.

There is even a small outdoor area to drink on the patio.

Hole In the Wall

3177 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30305

It might seem strange to talk about a hole in the wall when looking for fun places to get drinks, but this bar is one of my favorites.

While Moe’s and Joe’s was an actual hole-in-the-wall dive bar, this place is even more incredible. There are always nightly drink specials.

They often have a DJ pulling a crowd onto the dance floor. Students from nearby Clark and Georgia State Universities flock to this bar.

The Ivy

3717 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, GA 30342
Phone: (404) 941-3081
Visit Website

The Ivy is a college bar owned by the University of Georgia alums.

It’s in a converted mansion in Buckhead, offering an upscale place to have bottomless mimosas.

While it seems classy, I love coming here to kick back and watch sports on any of their 28 flat-screen TVs.

They have an excellent choice of bar food for lunch or dinner. There is brunch on the weekends that include chicken and waffles!

I recommend you stop by for a drink or two Wednesday through Sunday, as they’re closed Monday and Tuesday.

Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium

466 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
Phone: (404) 522-8275
Visit Website

Answering ” Church ” is uncommon when someone asks me where to get a drink, but Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium is the coolest place.

The bar has a churchy vibe, with religious decorations and organ karaoke, but the weekly ping-pong tournaments are something I can never miss.

They have a great selection of bottles and cans but also draft beers.

One of their signatures, the Blood of Christ slushie, is tasty and worth trying.

The Local

758 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306
Phone: (404) 873-5002
Visit Website

The Local is a karaoke bar near Freedom Park with sleek wooden booths for a cozy vibe.

I always check the song list online before signing up. I play darts or foosball while enjoying cheap drinks when I don’t feel like singing.

They also offer delicious hot dogs, tater tots, and cheese fries to help soak up the alcohol, which in my opinion already makes this one of the best college bars in Atlanta.

Ormsby’s

1170 Howell Mill Rd Ste P20, Atlanta, GA 30318
Phone: (404) 968-2033
Visit Website

Ormsby’s is a speakeasy-style bar on the second floor of the Westside Provisions District.

I can drink craft beers on tap or in bottles and cans; I love that.

They also make strong, unique cocktails like the Original Sin and a French 76. They also have an excellent selection of ciders.

I like to have a few drinks and play shuffleboard, darts, bocce, or pool.

When I get hungry, my go-to is the cajun jambalaya, but they also serve delicious smash burgers, and don’t forget to try the Cuban pork egg rolls.

Park Bar

150 Walton St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303
Phone: (404) 524-0444
Visit Website

Park Bar looks like a college dive bar with exposed bricks, and it has a great location in downtown Atlanta, near the College Football Hall of Fame, not far from tourist spots like the World of Coca-Cola and Georgia Aquarium.

They have an impressive selection of local brews, canned and on tap, and an extensive list of rotating seasonal bourbon offerings.

I always get the burger or wings of the month for a delicious meal.

Make sure to take a spin on their Park Bar Wheel of Fun for the chance at something special!

Moondogs

3179 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone: (404) 231-4201
Visit Website

Moondgos is a Buckhead college bar with many fun activities like karaoke, pool, beer pong, and dancing, and they consider themselves ‘four bars in one.’

They also host poker nights, so I always like to check the calendar and stop by when those events happen.

They have plenty of beer on tap, plus bottles of beer and cider.

Their shots and $4 bombs give me the most bang for my buck and taste great.

Lost Dog Tavern

3182 Roswell Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone: (404) 254-3341
Visit Website

My favorite things about Lost Dog Tavern are the back porch and outdoor bar area with cornhole and foosball.

It’s in Buckhead, so I make time to stop by and check out live music or the upstairs DJ when I’m near that location.

They sell beer by the bucket, but the bartenders make strong drinks when I’m in the mood for a cocktail.

I can get a burger or hotdog if I need a quick bite!

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.
