Gracie’s Tax Bar is one of the most fun places to go out just northwest of Downtown Phoenix.
The bar is housed in a former tax office and is a favorite college bar in the area, thanks to finger food, great drinks, and board games.
Their drink menu has a little bit of everything. I typically go with a beer or hard seltzer when I’m here because it’s easy.
But they offer fun mixed drinks and classic cocktails, too. As one of the best college bars in Phoenix, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, even on a budget.

You’ll find The Whining Pig in Uptown in Bethany Plaza.
This best college bar in Phoenix is lively, with people constantly there for their happy hour and to play games while sipping their favorite drinks.
The Whining Pig’s bar menu features beer, wine, mead, ciders, and seltzers.
The draft menu often changes depending on their available kegs, but I love ordering anything from Wren House Brewing since it’s local to Phoenix.

It’s a laid-back spot that’s perfect for watching the game. If you love beer, then you’ll love this bar.
Angel’s Trumpet Ale House only serves beer and non-alcoholic options.
I love that they have craft beers from surrounding cities and states. I love the Alaskan Raspberry Wheat.

Chopper John’s is a great option if you’re racking your brain on where to get a drink in the Camelback East Village.
It’s a no-frills spot that draws many college students and bikers. You can listen to live music and play games while you hang out.
The bar menu here features all your favorites but fun options like Jell-O shots and frozen margaritas.
I typically look for any special frozen drinks they have at the time.

This intimate venue often has comedy shows, live music, spoken word shows, and movies showing in a small space.
The drink menu here is vast. You can go with a beer or glass of wine, but I suggest looking at one of the Valley Bar’s classic cocktails.
I’ve tried most of them and recommend Betty G. Paloma and The McCain.

It’s a gastropub with a traditional tavern appearance, a lively atmosphere, and great food.
If you have the time, I’d grab a bite while you’re here.
The food is elevated yet simple at the same time. As for the drinks, they have everything.
They make a delicious espresso martini here, but they have plenty of other options, too.

A fun place to get drinks in Golden Keys Central is AiNT NICKS TAVERN.
It’s a chill college bar that also sees a lot of bikers. People gather here to sing karaoke, play pool, and play darts.
This local spot has everything you could want to drink on the menu. On a warm day, you’ll see people drinking cold or frozen beer outside.
If you can stop by for brunch, their Bloody Mary is one of my favorites, making AiNT NICKS TAVERN one of the best college bars in Phoenix.

I typically go with something simple like a vodka cranberry here, but they can make classic cocktails, too.
If you’re hungry, the burger is mouthwatering.

It’s one of the bars you’ll see people of all ages at, but particularly college kids. It’s a laid-back spot, but it can get lively at night.
The drink menu in this Irish pub has a little bit of everything. From beer to wine to mixed drinks, everyone can find something here.
I usually go with Jameson or a local craft beer when I stop here.
