Comedy Bars in Dallas to Laugh Out Loud

One of the most interesting things in Dallas, Texas, is the Sixth Floor Museum and the Grassy Knoll, sites associated with the John F. Kennedy assassination.

The city also has an impressive arts district, with the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.

But I also like to go to fun places to get drinks. The best comedy bars in Dallas provide entertainment while I enjoy a beer or cocktail.

Dallas Comedy Club

3036 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226
Phone: (214) 814-1980
Visit Website

Dallas Comedy Club is in Deep Ellum, just blocks from the Baylor University Medical Center.

It’s one of my favorite fun places to go out because the space has two theaters with shows happening five nights a week.

The bar keeps domestic beers in bottles and cans, so I usually order one of their signature cocktails.

The Ninja Turtle has coconut rum, Midori melon liqueur, and pineapple juice, making it easy to drink, but I never turn down a jello shot.

Four Day Weekend- Dallas

5601 Sears St, Dallas, TX 75206

Four Day Weekend is an upscale comedy bar in a nice theater in the Lower Greenville neighborhood.

They have ample parking behind Trader Joe’s, so it’s easy to get there and find a spot.

It’s not the top pick when I’m wondering where to get a drink, but it’s one of the most fun places to go out.

Despite what the name might imply, the comedy troupe only performs on Friday and Saturday nights.

Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub

5321 E Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75206
Phone: (214) 823-5233

When I want the vibe of bars but the enjoyment of a comedy show, Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub is my top choice.

It has a small stage with tables and bar seating so I can settle in for a night of drinks and laughter.

The club has a full bar, so I can order beer or a cocktail, depending on my mood.

They also have a decent food menu if I want to stay and make a full evening of the show.

Backdoor Comedy

940 E Belt Line Rd, Richardson, TX 75081
Phone: (214) 328-4444
Visit Website

If I feel up for a short drive, I head to Richardson, about 30 minutes outside of Dallas.

Backdoor Comedy is in the BayBURY Square Shopping Center, so I can always find parking.

Since it’s in a strip mall, it has more of a dive bar feel, and the basic bar offerings reflect that.

On Thursday nights, you’ll hear up-and-coming comedians at the open mic.

Fridays and Saturdays are comedy showcases that always make me laugh.

Stomping Ground Comedy Theater & Training Center

1350 Manufacturing St #109, Dallas, TX 75207
Phone: (469) 206-0082
Visit Website

Stomping Ground Comedy Theater is in the Trinity Trail Center just off I-35E, near the UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Since this club is officially a nonprofit, they don’t serve alcohol.

That makes it a fun evening because I can BYOB and grab a six-pack of a local craft beer to enjoy a night in Dallas.

Arlington Improv Comedy Club

309 Curtis Mathes Way #147, Arlington, TX 76018
Phone: (817) 635-5555
Visit Website

Arlington is less than an hour west of Dallas, heading toward Fort Worth.

The drive is worth it for a night at the Arlington Improv Comedy Club.

They get some big names like D.L. Hughley and Cocoa Brown.

They also have a family-friendly show every other Saturday afternoon.

They have domestic beers on tap, beer by the bottle, or canned craft beers.

But they have an awesome souvenir glass, so I order cocktails to keep the nice pint glass.

The Seriously Funny Margarita is my favorite.

The Addison Improv

4980 Belt Line Rd #250, Dallas, TX 75254
Phone: (972) 404-8501
Visit Website

The Addison Improv is what I think of when I picture a comedy bar: rows of tables where you can rest your drink and a small stage with the spotlight on the comedian.

It’s off the Dallas Parkway and Belt Line Road, near the Addison Airport.

There are shows five days a week at this comedy bar, so I always find someone great to make me laugh.

They have bottled beer, a few classics on draft, some specialty cocktails, and fun shots.

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.
