From side-splitting stand-up acts to hilarious improv shows, the city offers a plethora of venues that will have you rolling in the aisles.

In this guide, we’ll take you on a comedic journey through the top comedy bars, where comedians grace the stage to deliver performances.

CSz Philadelphia – Home of ComedySportz

Visit Website

CSz, near Rittenhouse Square, is a well-loved comedy improv comedy club that’s a lot of fun for the whole family.

Their shows are always so hilarious and creative and not awkward like many other improv shows I’ve been to.

I also know you can hire the cast for your team building at work, which I think is a fantastic idea as it helps coworkers let loose, laugh, and bond.

Helium Comedy Club

Helium Comedy Club, located near The Mutter Museum, is one of the best comedy bars in Philadelphia for the simple fact that it’s so highly rated by its customers!

Helium is where to get a drink if you want to watch standup comedians of all kinds, including famous TV comics like Gary Owen while drinking your choice of draft beer, bottled beer, wine, and cocktails.

I also love how there’s a section of the menu where you can choose to let your waiter choose your drink for you.

It aligns with the jovial, lighthearted, and comical mood of the place!

Philly Improv Theater

2030 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA 19103
Phone: (267) 233-1556
Visit Website

Philly Improv Theater is one of the most fun places to go out for all types of comedy performances, including sketch, improv, standup, and alternate comedy shows.

It’s a community-oriented theater with extremely friendly vibes.

Located near Rittenhouse, it’s also quite convenient to get to, so I’d highly recommend adding Philly Improv Theater to the list if you’re looking to get in some laughs while you’re in town!

Punch Line Philly

33 E Laurel St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Visit Website

Punch Line Philly is a bit away from most of the other comedy bars in the city, located between Northern Liberties and Fishtown.

This expansive comedy club is known as one of the most fun places to get drinks because it always has a vibrant, energetic atmosphere, perhaps thanks to its 300-seat room!

In addition to comedy shows, I like getting a mimosa or draft beer here and enjoying their drag shows as well.

Comedy Cabaret Comedy Club

11580 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19116
Phone: (215) 676-5653
Visit Website

Comedy Cabaret Comedy Club is a chain comedy club, but my favorite location is on Roosevelt Blvd near Topgolf and Skyzone.

It’s a cool, relaxed venue that features great standup comedians who work for the crowd like no other.

Since it’s a bit out of town, my friends and I like to make a whole day of it and go to Topgolf for pre-drinks and some golfing fun before making our way to Comedy Cabaret.

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.

I have always had a deep interest in the restaurant and bar industry. My restaurant experience began in 1997 at the age of 14 as a bus boy. By the time I turned 17 I was serving tables, and by 19 I was bartending/bar managing 6-7 nights a week.

In 2012, after a decade and a half of learning all facets of the industry, I opened my first restaurant/bar. In 2015, a second location followed, the latter being featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
