Houston, the Bayou City, is well-known for its love of country music and line dancing.
So, it’s no surprise that this sprawling city has some of the best country bars in Texas.
If you consider yourself a cowboy or cowgirl at heart, Houston offers a variety of bars where you can two-step the night away.
I’ll share my picks for the best country bars in Houston that are sure to get your kickers tapping and heart racing!
Whiskey River North
7637 Farm to Market 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77070
Phone: (281) 477-0528
Whiskey River North, a nightclub near iRise Trampoline & Fun Park in the Willowbrook area, is one of the most fun places to go out on the weekends if you like highly energetic crowds and Western-themed line-dancing.
My friends and I love to come here to let loose and not take ourselves too seriously, which means at least one of us ends up on the mechanical bull by the end of the night!
Nevertheless, it’s a fantastic spot to celebrate your birthday, take a few tequila shots, or simply have a wild night out with your closest pals.
11925 Eastex Fwy A, Houston, TX 77039
Phone: (281) 219-2006
Stampede Houston is a spacious honky-tonk club located between Corrigan Place and Lyncrest. I like coming here when I’m craving live country music, as they usually feature great Western bands.
There’s also a massive dance floor, which allows you to move and groove without the fear of running into someone else or knocking somebody over! If you need a break from dancing, they have pool tables for friendly competition.
Plus, their drinks are reasonably priced and always delicious. For all these reasons, I’d definitely say Stampede is one of the best country bars in Houston.
Buck Wild Country Dance Club
1025 W NASA Pkwy, Webster, TX 77598
Phone: (281) 332-1199
If you’re wondering where to get a drink and have a truly wild time, Buck Wild Country Dance Club certainly lives up to its name!
Located near the Challenger 7 Memorial in the Webster area, this boisterous, exuberant club has a 120-ft. bar to ensure everybody can get another round, making the atmosphere unforgettable!
Prices for beers and standard mixed drinks are reasonable here, and it’s another wonderful spot to celebrate your birthday with a large group of friends. The dance floor is huge, and everyone is welcome there.
21940 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77450
Phone: (281) 392-3499
Mo’s Place, by the Mason Road Skate Center, is one of the most fun places to get drinks for people who love live country bands and singing their hearts out at karaoke nights.
I always have a spectacular time here, but I especially love dancing on their lively dance floor on the weekends.
If I go during the week, I go early enough to have a drink with friends, talk with the social bartenders, and eat a few tacos while I’m at it.
Neon Boots Dancehall and Saloon
11410 Hempstead Rd, Houston, TX 77092
Phone: (832) 582-5022
If you’re in the Spring Branch East area, you’d be remiss not to check out Neon Boots, an enjoyable, western-themed dancehall and saloon.
It has a more casual and relaxed vibe than the other nightclubs on the list but still makes for a great, lively night with friends.
Whenever I’m looking to actually wear my cowboy boots and do some old-school lined dancing, Neon Boots never lets me down.
