Houston, the Bayou City, is well-known for its love of country music and line dancing.
So, it’s no surprise that this sprawling city has some of the best country bars in Texas.
If you consider yourself a cowboy or cowgirl at heart, Houston offers a variety of bars where you can two-step the night away.
I’ll share my picks for the best country bars in Houston that are sure to get your kickers tapping and heart racing!

Whiskey River North, a nightclub near iRise Trampoline & Fun Park in the Willowbrook area, is one of the most fun places to go out on the weekends if you like highly energetic crowds and Western-themed line-dancing.
My friends and I love to come here to let loose and not take ourselves too seriously, which means at least one of us ends up on the mechanical bull by the end of the night!
Nevertheless, it’s a fantastic spot to celebrate your birthday, take a few tequila shots, or simply have a wild night out with your closest pals.

Stampede Houston is a spacious honky-tonk club located between Corrigan Place and Lyncrest. I like coming here when I’m craving live country music, as they usually feature great Western bands.
There’s also a massive dance floor, which allows you to move and groove without the fear of running into someone else or knocking somebody over! If you need a break from dancing, they have pool tables for friendly competition.
Plus, their drinks are reasonably priced and always delicious. For all these reasons, I’d definitely say Stampede is one of the best country bars in Houston.

Mo’s Place, by the Mason Road Skate Center, is one of the most fun places to get drinks for people who love live country bands and singing their hearts out at karaoke nights.
I always have a spectacular time here, but I especially love dancing on their lively dance floor on the weekends.
If I go during the week, I go early enough to have a drink with friends, talk with the social bartenders, and eat a few tacos while I’m at it.

If you’re in the Spring Branch East area, you’d be remiss not to check out Neon Boots, an enjoyable, western-themed dancehall and saloon.
It has a more casual and relaxed vibe than the other nightclubs on the list but still makes for a great, lively night with friends.
Whenever I’m looking to actually wear my cowboy boots and do some old-school lined dancing, Neon Boots never lets me down.
