Los Angeles’s Greatest Country Bars

Los Angeles is one of the most popular destinations for drinking and music.

The City of Angels is the center of the music industry, featuring such attractions as Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard, and renowned music venues like The Troubadour, The Hollywood Palladium, The Fonda Theatre, The Wiltern, and The Roxy Theatre.

If you’re planning on visiting Los Angeles or staying there for good you might consider checking out the best country country bars in the area.

Country is among my favorite music genres and Los Angeles is, surprisingly, one of the prime locales for quality country music.

Consider my list of best country bars in Los Angeles to find the best venue for your next outing.

Cowboy Country Saloon

This bar is an absolute gem, complete with Western-themed decor and a laid-back business casual vibe. I love the free line dancing lessons and the mechanical bull.

This bar is open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and they charge a small cover after Happy Hour, so come prepared. The drinks are solid and well-priced; you can even play beer pong.

It’s located right next to the beach where the Queen Mary is docked, but you can also check out nearby Paramount for a movie set tour.

Cowboy Palace Saloon

This down-home Southern-style country bar features a laid-back vibe, pool tables, and live country music.

They offer line dancing lessons most nights of the week and serve basic beers and cocktails.

There’s a cover nighty, charged $5 Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, while $10 for Friday and Saturday.!

It’s located in Chatsworth, so enjoy the Box Canyon, Rocky Peak Park, or the Chatsworth Nature Preserve to keep the rugged Western theme going.

The Canyon at Montclair’s

5060 E N Montclair Plaza Ln, Montclair, CA 91763
Phone: (888) 645-5006
Visit Website

This live music venue is located in Montclair Plaza—next to the California Botanic Garden and Pomona College, one of the most beautiful college campuses in America.

The Canyon is a dedicated country music venue where I can be sure to catch many of my favorite local (and foreign) acts. The dress code is business casual.

They offer basic mixed drinks and beers and a menu constantly updated with excellent new recipes. I love the chocolate cake and homemade salsa.

657 W Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773
Phone: (909) 592-2211
Visit Website

This laid-back country bar is the perfect place to start a night out on the town.

Montana’s offers some of the best signature cocktails in all of Los Angeles, including the Caribbean Cowgirl, made with coconut rum, triple sec, pineapple, orange juice, and grenadine

You can find Montana’s right between La Verne and West San Dimas. Consider exploring Mt. Baldy and the Angeles National Forest nearby, or head to nearby Claremont to visit the beautiful colleges there.

The Ranch Restaurant & Saloon

1025 E. Ball Road, Anaheim, CA 92805
Phone: (714) 817-4200
Visit Website

The Ranch advertises itself as Orange County’s premier country music venue and I can attest to that.

Located in Anaheim right next to Disneyland this joint offers some of the best cocktails and draft beers in the area from breweries like Allagash Brewing Co, Brewery X, and Bootlegger’s Brewery.

My favorite cocktail is the Prickly Poppy, made with Tito’s vodka and St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur.

Remember that the dress code is a nightclub or country attire, so you won’t be able to wear shorts or sleeveless shirts.

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.
