If you’re ever up for a night filled with nonstop dancing, especially techno jams, head over to Flash, one of the most fun places to get drinks in the city.

Located in Shaw near Howard Theater, Flash provides consistently high-quality tunes through an incredible sound system.

And they bring in both techno and house DJs from both in and outside of the country.

I go here quite often because I love the great music, inviting crowd, and decently priced drinks for a DC nightclub.

Soundcheck

Between McPherson Square and Franklin Park, you’ll find Soundcheck, another fantastic EDM- and techno-centric club.

Many clubs in DC get quite crowded, but I think the layout and security ensure it’s never dangerously overcrowded there, which I appreciate.

I can always get a good night of dancing in Soundcheck, but I also like chit-chatting with people in the crowd and the bathrooms because people are typically quite friendly.

The staff is also so professional and helpful, so I always feel treated with respect here.

The Park at 14th

920 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005

The Park at 14th, to the west of Franklin Park, is one of the best dance bars in Washington DC due to its modern-chic decor.

It has elegant chandeliers coupled with contemporary pops of color that make it gorgeous yet far from pretentious.

Plus, they have delicious food and a great happy hour as well, so it’s a nice spot to go at all times of the day.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for where to get a drink, take Insta-worthy pics, and dance to hip-hop and pop music, The Park is a great find.

Sax Restaurant & Lounge

734 11th St NW, Washington, DC 20001

Sax Restaurant & Lounge is another elegant nightclub with burlesque and cabaret shows that are wildly impressive every time I go!

Sax is an excellent choice for celebrating a birthday or any other celebratory event because they have bottle service, strong drinks, and an entertaining environment overall.

Plus, you’ll be blown away by the performers!

There is a range, including cabaret dancers, fire dancers, and five-star DJs, that’ll ensure you break a sweat on the dance floor!

Cafe Citron

1343 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036
Phone: (202) 530-8844

Cafe Citron, located by Dupont Circle and the Heurich House Museum, is a Pan-Latin restaurant during the day as well as a late-night hot spot for creative cocktails and salsa and bachata dancing.

I’m not the best salsa or bachata dancer, but the atmosphere is very welcoming and inviting, so I never feel intimidated to at least try my best!

Plus, they have lessons on Mondays, so if you want to improve, you always have that option.

If you go during happy hour, don’t hesitate to try the empanadas or the chicken picante lettuce wraps!

Rosebar Lounge

1215 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036
Phone: (202) 301-8794
Visit Website

Rosebar Lounge is a hip dance club that caters to a diverse crowd.

Locals and tourists alike appreciate coming to this convenient location for a boogie, especially on the weekends.

Located near Longfellow Park, this establishment offers a bar, a lounge, and an airy terrace, thus providing plenty of space to talk, eat, drink, and, of course, dance!

I also appreciate that they offer all of my favorite classic cocktails, like margaritas and Moscow Mule.

In terms of the music, the DJs can be hit or miss, but if you go with a good attitude, it’s easy to have an excellent, memorable night!

HEIST

1802 Jefferson Pl NW, Washington, DC 20036
Phone: (202) 519-0477
Visit Website

Located near the O Museum in the Mansion is a bar called HEIST, a small yet lively and luxurious space and one of the most fun places to go out for well-crafted cocktails and top-shelf liquor.

I’m obsessed with their expansive wine list, and I often head there a bit early before the dancing begins in order to savor a glass or two of wine before the music and crowd pick up.

There are excellent and timely bartenders and staff, so I always feel taken care of here.

I recommend getting a table, especially if you’re celebrating a birthday, a bachelor/ette, or just a great life!
