Enchanting is the word that best describes 600t.

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Shaw, 600t is between 6th Street NW and 7th Street NW and is close to the Howard Theater and the picturesque Shaw Park.

The biggest reason I consider 600t a fun place to go out is because of the upscale and intimate feel of the bar.

From the dim lighting to the cozy seating arrangement, every aspect of the bar has been considered to yield one of the best date bars in Washington, DC.

Beer enthusiasts are treated to an exciting experience from the tap’s mix of local and international brews.

The “black broadway” neighborhood of U Street Corridor is home to renowned chef Rose Previte’s restaurant and bar, the Compass Rose.

Compass Rose is a haven for art and culture and is a stone’s throw from Meridian Hill Park and the African American Civil War Memorial and  Museum.

The laid-back bar has a world-class menu of cocktails and draft beers in line with the owner’s culinary prowess.

However, the star of the show and one of my favorite reasons to dine at the Compass Rose is the wine list laden with pearls from local and international markets.

If you have been to the West End neighborhood, you must know how prestigious it is.

I am constantly looking for fun places to get a drink, and my latest find on 24th Street NW is the Blue Duck Tavern.

From George Washington University to Georgetown Waterfront Park, there are many reasons to find yourself in the Blue Duck Tavern.

Inside, patrons are greeted with a sophisticated and upscale vibe, perfect for a romantic rendezvous.

You can imbibe the crafted cocktails or wine (sold by the bottle and the glass), but I recommend this bar mainly because of the farm-to-table cuisine.

It is in the famous U Street Neighborhood, between U Street NW and V Street NW.

It is part of the vibrant musical community of the area and is within close vicinity of the 9:30 Club and the Lincoln Theater.
