Between its bartending workshops and tasting events, it’s no surprise Philadelphia Distilling is one of the best places to go out in the Northern Liberties area.

This establishment has been around since 2005 and quickly became one of the best distilleries in Philadelphia thanks to the staff’s dedication to their craft.

So if you’re wondering where to get a fine drink, head to Philadelphia Distilling underneath the Delaware Express, the distillery is within walking distance of the Fillmore.


New Liberty Distillery

Nestled between Benson Park and Hancock Playground, New Liberty Distillery is a popular spot in the Olde Kensington area.

It tops my list of fun places to go out with its excellent selection of spirits and craft cocktails.

The distillery offers a mix of classic and signature drinks, but there is something for everyone with canned seltzers, local beer, and a small wine selection.

I highly recommend trying the barrel-aged or smoked spirits for a unique tasting experience.

Stateside Vodka is the result of two brothers deciding to start a vodka company in 2013.

Since then, the brand has won multiple awards and established itself as a popular option with a selection of canned ice teas, spiked sodas, and craft vodka.

With flavors like black cherry vodka soda or hard peach tea, the drinks are fun and refreshing.

The distillery tour and cocktail lounge offer two different but equally noteworthy experiences.

Stateside Vodka is in Olde Kensington, within walking distance from the Schissler Recreation Center.

Manatawny Still Works produces small-batch American whiskeys that stand out thanks to the attention to detail and quality.

The distillery also makes gin, rum, vodka, and more.

You can find these products at local bars and restaurants, but the best way to discover the Manatawny Still Works is to visit one of the tasting rooms where you can discover the story behind each product.

The East Passyunk tasting room is near the intersection with Tasker Street.

Don’t miss the Singing Fountain in the center of the intersection.


Palmer Distilling Co

Palmer Distilling Co uses a traditional Dutch recipe to make Liberty Gin.

This award-winning gin uses simple ingredients and requires the use of a traditional copper pot.

The distillery also makes Manayunk Moonshine, a unique corn whiskey.

I can’t recommend Liberty Gin enough if you enjoy gin and tonic, gin fizz, gimlets, and other classic gin cocktails.

You’ll find this small business on Krams Avenue, between Wilde Street and Silverwood Street.

Germany Hill and the Schuylkill River Trail aren’t far away.


Red Brick Craft Distillery

Red Brick Craft Distillery is a community-oriented business.

It’s one of the most fun places to get drinks in the East Kensington area if you’re looking for something to do on a Saturday when the distillery opens for tours and tasting events.

If you can’t make it to one of the tours, make sure to look for the Red Brick booth at most of the local farmer’s markets.

The distillery is on Martha Street, not far from the POPS Skatepark.

Bluebird Distilling is one of the best distilleries in Philadelphia, with its selection of whiskey, bourbon, vodka, gin, agave, and rum.

This business uses a hybrid copper still to obtain spirits with an amazing taste, making it one of the best places to go out in Phoenixville.

The distillery is open daily for bottle sales, and there is cocktail service during limited hours.

You’ll find Bluebird Distilling by the water on French Creek, not far from the Mont Clare Bridge.
