Seamore’s is a relaxed seafood restaurant and bar near Washington St. and the Brooklyn Bridge. My favorite thing to order here is the oysters during happy hour. It’s also an excellent idea to bring a few friends along and split a pitcher.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm – $1.50 oysters (1/2 dozen), $5 beer, $7 wine, and $9 glass/$35 pitcher for mixed drinks.
The Binc, next to Cadman Plaza Park, offers one of the best happy hours in Dumbo, especially because it’s normally a bit pricey. I think the innovative cocktails are worth paying full price for at this cozy and romantic speakeasy bar, but I appreciate the big discounts during the week.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $11 cocktails, $4 beer, and $8 wine.
If you want to avoid touristy places, head to duckduck, which is a cool local bar offering a lengthy happy hour every day of the week. It’s located near Martinez Playground in the Broadway Triangle area, and in addition to their happy hour specials, I also go for the great music, darts, and amicable crowd.
Happy Hour Deals: Everyday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm – $1 off other drinks, 2-for-1 well drinks, and 2-for-1 Rolling Rock and Narragansett Lager.
I think Pizzette might offer the best happy hour in Dumbo because it’s so incredibly cheap for NYC. If you want to fill up on oysters and wine any day of the week, Pizzette is surely the place to be. Cocktails aren’t on happy hour, but with $1 oysters, it’s easy to justify ordering one or two.
Happy Hour Deals: Everyday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $1 oysters, $5 draft beer, $7 barbera red wine, and $9 aperol spritz.
Olympia is a wine bar in Brooklyn near John Street Park. All of their small plates include local, fresh ingredients, so I was pleased to find out some of them are included in the happy hour. Additionally, they offer delicious cocktails during their three-hour happy hour as well. I recommend “Round Midnight” or “Montenegro” if available.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $5 house wines, $10 cocktails, and $6 appetizers.
If you’re in the mood for craft beer and plenty of good food during happy hour, reserve a spot at Randolph Beer, a fun Brewpub near Clumber Corner. You can get a huge dinner and delicious, well-crafted beer for such an excellent value. And the space itself is airy, comfortable, and inviting.
Happy Hour Deals: Everyday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm – $65 six-course beer dinner with 2 collaboration beers.
Also near Clumber Corner is ALMAR, a polished, sleek Italian restaurant, and bar with a particularly fresh feel. I always eat here on the weekdays for their happy hour specials on wine and beer, which go swimmingly with their linguine bottarga, wild shrimp salad, bomba egg sandwich, and other delicious menu items.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm – buy 1, take 1 for house wine & draft beer.
Time Out Market New York is a two-floor food court that I have trouble calling a food court because it’s so chic and stylish. Time Out is a great place to hang out with friends, especially for a drink or two after work if your office is in Brooklyn Heights.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $5 select draught beers, $8 specialty cocktails and $7 select wines.
Westville Dumbo, near Anchorage Plaza, places a huge emphasis on incorporating locally-sourced ingredients in their meals, and I respect that just as much as I love the tasty results! In addition to tasty comfort food like mac and cheese, hamburgers, and truffle fries, you can get your fix of cocktails, beer, and wine during happy hour. I highly recommend one of the mules!
Happy Hour Deals: Everyday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $8 glass/$36 pitcher for margaritas, $8 mule (moscow, oaxacan, kentucky, dark ‘n stormy), $8 glass/$36 bottle for wine (pinot grigio, tempranillo, rose and prosecco), and $6 glass/$24 pitcher for beer (lagunitas ipa and sunday lager).
The River Cafe is a Brooklyn gem, well-loved by the community for its waterside views, romantic vibes, and incredible tasting menu. This Michel Star restaurant isn’t where you’ll go for $4 beers, but you can get a generous and delectable dinner much cheaper than you’d normally pay on certain days. Hey – it’s nice to treat yourself every once in a while!
Happy Hour Deals: Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm to 10:30 pm – $195 prix-fixe three course dinner.
If spending over a hundred dollars isn’t your idea of a good happy hour, let’s get back to the basics. I love going to Superfine, a fun local spot near Maritcha R. Lyons Park, for great weekday deals on beer, wine, and cocktails. They also have tasty Mediterranean bites like grilled calamari.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $3 tecate can, $5 select drafts, $6 house wines, and $6 well cocktails.
GRAN ELÉCTRICA is the place to be for Mexican food and drinks during the week. I love going here with a lively group of friends to match the friendly, colorful atmosphere in this restaurant, located near Hillside Dog Park. It’s also a great idea to split some apps, like guacamole and empanadas.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm – $10 cocteles, $8 margaritas, $4 cervezas, $9 vinos, and $8 tacos.
68 Jay Street Bar, near the AIR art museum, is one of my favorite places for a more relaxed drink or two mid-week. Wines, beer, and well drinks are all available at excellent prices every day, but especially during the weekday happy hours. It’s genuinely difficult to find better prices in New York City.
Happy Hour Deals: Monday to Friday 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm – $4 stella and brooklyn, $3 narragansett cans, $5 well drinks, and $5 house wine.
Cecconi’s Dumbo, located near St. Ann’s Warehouse and Bridge Park, is a refined Italian restaurant and bar with an eye-catching interior design. When I first walked in, I assumed I’d have to give up a pretty penny to sit in there, but the prices are more than reasonable during happy hour for drinks and small Italian plates!
Happy Hour Deals: Tuesday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – $4 to $9 cocktails, beer and wine, with cicchetti and pizzettas.
Fifty Henry is one of the most fun places to go out with group of friends. It’s a wine bar near Whitman Park that isn’t the cheapest happy hour you’ll find but still offers incredible value for what you get. I don’t mind paying a little extra for exceptional wine, especially when I get to pair it with one of their food menu.
Happy Hour Deals: Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm and Friday & Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm – 3$ off all drinks, happy hour oysters and shrimp cocktail.
