Some of my favorite dishes include BBQ tofu and truffle pasta. With a friendly vibe and regular happy hour specials on cocktails and wines, it’s a winner.

Right around the corner from the Museum of Contemporary Art, this upscale but welcoming place offers excellent steak and shrimp, but the salads are good too.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar delivers on what its name promises. I love the vast wine selection because even though it’s pricey, it’s worth every drop.

Plus, the charcuterie tray goes beautifully with a glass of your favorite vintage. You can also get oysters for a special treat.

Pair your pint with an artisan pizza, or grab one of the bar’s fancier cocktails. The Moscow Mules are delicious.

I love any of their pasta dishes, and the Sichuan tomato appetizer is off-the-charts tasty.
