SOB (South of Beale) Downtown is a hip gastropub serving creative cocktails and elevated pub fare. It’s conveniently located on South Main street, close to the Orpheum Theatre. It’s a popular place for foodies, as the SOB burger is an iconic original, and the Banana Pudding pancakes are a fine delicacy during brunch. For dessert, I recommend the peanut butter pie. When it comes to drinks, my favorite is the Blue Suede Shoes, but I’ve also enjoyed their espresso martinis. They’re available during Sunday Brunch.

Celtic Crossing Irish Pub can be found in East Midtown. This pub features over 100 types of whiskey and allows you to try up to three with their whiskey flights. They also have wines and a menu of specialty cocktails. My favorite whiskeys are the Buffalo Trace and Knappogue Castle. As for the cocktails, I particularly enjoy their Lady Leprechaun. In addition, they serve great food, such as beer-steemed mussels, to name one exceptional menu item.

Situated in Crosstown in what used to be a Masonic Temple, Ecco on Overton Park is a fancy dining restaurant. You’ll be spoilt for choice here whether you prefer cocktails, wine, or beer. Though I could name several favorites, I have to highlight the Fireside Chat cocktail as the one that left the biggest impression on me. You can pair your beverage with a delicious cheese plate to share with friends, or if you’re eating meals, the braised Bok Choy is incredible.

In addition, they serve charcuterie boards and nine kinds of bruschetta that pair well with the drinks.
