Like N.Y.C., Los Angeles is a city that never sleeps, and with it comes the best late-night bars that will keep your night alive until the early hours of the morning.

From Hollywood to Downtown LA, the neighborhood options alone are endless.

So, to make your choices easier, I’ll share my picks for the best late-night bars in Los Angeles.

Capri Club

4604 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041
Phone: (323) 539-8842
Visit Website

If you’re looking for a laid and chill late-night spot, Capri Club may easily become your go-to.

This bar, located near Occidental College, offers plush red seating, tasty Italian bites, and delicious craft cocktails, perfect for post-dinner sipping.

I like going to this chic bar because although a bit pricey, it’s been running since 1963 and is one of the most reliable places to go.

My favorite drink is the Paper Plane, a delightful citrus and whiskey fusion.

Baby Gee

1227 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90802
Visit Website

If you’re wondering where to get a drink after midnight on the weekends near Alamitos Beach, check out Baby Gee.

This cozy, thoughtful, mood-lit bar offers a comfortable space to chat with friends into the wee hours of the night.

Plus, they make excellent cocktails, like the Baby Gee + T with apricot and Wakey Wakey with vanilla and lemon flavors.

APOTHEKE LOS ANGELES

1746 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Phone: (323) 844-0717
Visit Website

For a unique twist on the traditional bar experience, pay a visit to APOTHEKE LOS ANGELES.

This off-beat bar near Factory 93 and the L.A. River offers pharmacy-inspired cocktails.

What does that mean? Well, the cocktails – or “formulas” are categorized by “treatments,” such as “Pain Killers,” “Stimulants,” and “Stress Relievers.”

It’s also one of the best late-night bars in Los Angeles if you’re looking to stay out on a Monday, as it doesn’t close until 2 am.

The Let’s Go! Disco & Cocktail Club

710 E 4th Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Visit Website

The Let’s Go! Disco & Cocktail Bar is one of the most fun places to get drinks in the Little Tokyo area if you love to dance – even without a “proper” dance floor.

They have a great lineup of classic cocktails, like espresso martini, Manhattan, and mai tai, so you won’t have a hard time ordering something you already know and love.

But if you want to try something new, order The Rita, which includes rhubarb and mezcal, for a unique treat!

Thunderbolt

1263 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Phone: (213) 372-5099
Visit Website

Thunderbolt, located near the Vista Hermosa Natural Park, is a funky yet chic and stylish cocktail bar offering timeless bar snacks and delicious beverage creations.

It’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but stays open quite late on the weekends so that you can enjoy the night after energizing yourself with a tasty espresso martini.

Given the area, the prices are quite reasonable, too, making it an even better option for continued imbibing.

The Roger Room

370 La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048
Phone: (310) 854-1300
Visit Website

The Roger Room is another highly well-designed cocktail bar with a cool, speakeasy vibe near The Megaformer Studio.

I appreciate relaxing in this sophisticated yet warm and eclectic space, admiring the freak show pictures on the wall while sipping on excellent cocktails.

My favorite is the Japanese Maple cocktail with Suntory Whisky Toki and pure maple syrup.

Plus, unlike many of the bars in L.A. – and even most of the bars on this list – it’s open til 2 am, not just on the weekends but every night of the week!

Death & Co.

818 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Visit Website

Death & Co. is in the Arts District, near the Hauser & Wirth gallery, and it’s fitting for the creative area due to its inspired design and cocktail menu.

It’s known for its New York speakeasy vibe, with moody lighting and all.

I love walking down a dark staircase to enter almost as much as I enjoy sipping on their special craft cocktails.

My favorite is Mr. Fantasy, a unique mezcal option.

Bar Flores

1542 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Phone: (213) 266-8006
Visit Website

Bar Flores, situated on Sunset Blvd in Echo Park, has a relaxed, unpretentious ambiance.

Fortunately, the drinks still have a sophisticated feel akin to fine dining.

I love the appealing interior design, with its bright colors and softwoods that match up with vibrant greenery dotted throughout the indoor and outdoor space.

It’s a lovely place to celebrate a birthday, promotion, or whatever makes you want to say “cheers!” with friends.

Try the Passionfruit Sour! And like the Roger Room mentioned above, it’s open until 2:00 am every day.

The Love Song Bar

450 S Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Phone: (323) 284-5727
Visit Website

The Love Song Bar, near Spring Street Park, offers a funky, eclectic, and cozy space to drink signature cocktails and listen to live music until late at night.

What I find highly appealing is that this bar is connected with a pizza place in the neighboring Regent Theater, so you can eat your pizza while enjoying a cocktail like P.Y.T. with Pimms No. 1. or a standard Moscow mule.

Everson Royce Bar

1936 E 7th St, Los Angeles, CA 90021
Phone: (213) 335-6166
Visit Website

Everson Royce Bar is a chic and sophisticated cocktail lounge in the Arts District near the Historic Ford Factory Building.

I love visiting this polished, sleek space when I want to get all dressed up and treat myself to excellent cocktails and equally delicious bar bites.

They also have delicious burgers, funny bartenders, and an extensive wine list as well!

The Little Bar

757 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Phone: (323) 433-4044
Visit Website

The Little Bar is another hot spot that’s fortunately open until 2 am each day of the week, giving you the opportunity to sip and chat without having an early deadline.

I like going to this festive spot in the Miracle Mile area near the Candela La Brea event venue for craft cocktails like The Little Apple and tap beers.

Plus, even their happy hour goes quite later than normal (until 8:00 pm) every single day, and you can enjoy discounted drinks, draft beer, and house wine.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re an energetic night owl or just looking to unwind after a long day, Los Angeles has plenty of options for late-night entertainment.

From dive bars to rooftop lounges, I highly recommend exploring at least one spot on this list of the best late-night bars in Los Angeles!
