When I want to know where to get a drink for a laid-back evening, I choose Sanchos Cantina and Cocina in Five Points. The outside area is a rustic patio with a spiral staircase leading to the rooftop bar. Along with delicious Mexican food, they serve unique cocktails. I always order the Ole Smoky Mango Habanero whiskey, a perfect mix of spicy and sweet.

One of my favorite bars in the city is The Moon’s Daughters. It’s right above the River Walk on Lexington Avenue, giving me a view of the landscape from 20 stories high. The inside is sleek and has large windows to help the view, but the outside seating is comfortable and breathtaking. My favorite cocktail is the Smash Mouth, with Ilegal Mezcal, Pimms, muddled lemon and lime, ginger beer, and cucumber garnish. I also love the flavorful lamb sliders.

Bar America is near the Tower of the Americas and La Villita Historic Village, making it the perfect spot after a day of sightseeing. It’s a down-to-earth bar with a retro jukebox and a popular pool table. The rooftop seating includes a view of the nearby River Walk. The bartenders serve beers and liquors and can make a strong cocktail. They also serve delicious pub food, like wings and tots, so I come hungry. San Antonio is a beautiful city with tons of parks and waterways. After taking time to explore the Alamo, I like going to the best rooftop bars in San Antonio to take in the stunning skyline.

This bar is one of my favorite places to go out because the inside has cozy couches, while the rooftop seating is eclectic, with armchairs, artificial turf, and a view of the River Walk. They serve unique cocktails with hilarious names. My go-to is the Pillow Princess, made with Tito’s Vodka, Solerno, Sprite, and a splash of lime juice.

This rooftop bar is in the Fairmount Hotel, hugging the line between Downtown and Southtown San Antonio. The outdoor seating includes comfortable couches and armchairs, greenery, and an awning to block the Texas sun. I love pairing delicious cocktails with al fresco oysters fresh from East Coast boutique harvesters. They also serve other seafood dishes for a full meal. You can enjoy the stunning views at one of the best rooftop bars in San Antonio while eating and drinking the perfect menu pairings from the menu.

Topgolf is one of the most fun places to go out, and the location near the East Charles William Anderson Loop stands out with its rooftop bar. The bar includes fire pits, so I can enjoy it in any season. As with any Topgolf, you have access to three floors of golf and games, plus HDTVs to watch the game. Plenty of screens in the bar, too, so I can check the score when I’m not taking in the view.

Ocho is an upscale bar in Hotel Havana on the Riverwalk. The decor has a white foundation with bright pops of blue mirroring the nearby water and plenty of windows to enjoy the view. However, I love rooftop seating to get fresh air and enjoy my surroundings. The bartenders make deliciously strong drinks, but I recommend stopping by for their mouthwatering brunch options. However, you can go right with their Pan-Latin fair.

Chicken N Pickle is a laid-back restaurant in Oakland Heights with an extensive outdoor seating area, including bar stools, picnic tables, and covered sections. It’s one of my favorite places to go out because it has a restaurant, bar, and places to play pickleball, cornhole, bocce, and more—I never get bored! The bartenders mix delicious cocktails; my favorite is the Knotty Cherry with Bing cherry vodka and Monin pomegranate syrup.

This fancy seafood spot is a great place to enjoy custom cocktails and fresh seafood overlooking the greenery of San Antonio’s Dominion neighborhood. It’s on the second floor of Dominion Ridge, so I appreciate the view. The outdoor seating includes a covered area, but the private dining room is also a great dining place. I can never resist a platter including crab legs, oysters, and fresh seafood.
