Garçons de Café

541 S Spring St UNIT 114, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Phone: (323) 304-8399
Visit Website

Located near Pershing Square is Garçons de Café, a hidden French wine bar, lounge, and marketplace where you can sip on your favorite red, and pick at a cheese board.

They feature Chef’s Nights (pop ups) on most weekends.

They also have a weekly live Jazz Night on Wednesday (7 to 9PM) and host Art Shows from time to time as well.

In addition to charcuterie boards, they also offer delicious sandwiches and quiches; some come prepared and ready for a taste bud adventure!

Tabula Rasa Bar

5125 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Phone: (213) 290-6309
Visit Website

Tabula Rasa Bar is a trendy, local wine bar near John Snowden House in Hollywood.

It’s one of my favorite places to sip on wine due to its sleek, sophisticated, yet simultaneously hip interior design.

I usually go for the Sav Blanc Pet Nat or a White Burgundy here, perhaps because they pair well with some of their food offerings, like the Farro Salad.

However, if I get the Cuban sandwich, I’ll go with one of their reds.

Either way, I highly recommend coming here on Sunday or Tuesday for their live music of jazz bands!

Kippered

361 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013
Visit Website

Kippered is an intimate wine bar near the historical Bradbury Building between the Toy District and Financial District.

The wood finishings and lined-up greenery dotting the room create an inviting, soothing vibe that I can’t resist.

Plus, this wine and snack bar has incredible fish, including tuna, salmon, and sardines, which all pair gorgeously with their white wines.

Augustine Wine Bar

13456 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423
Phone: (818) 990-0938
Visit Website

If you’re wondering if there are truly fun places to go out that emphasize wine (instead of just cocktails or beer), check out Augustine Wine Bar, a hip, hip, lively spot in Sherman Village near Longridge Park.

Augustine is moody, dark, and sophisticated but still maintains a fun, vibrant, and lively atmosphere.

It’s a great place for a date night because it’s romantic without being corny, and it’s usually quite busy, so no one will overhear your conversation!

Covell

4628 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Phone: (323) 660-4400
Visit Website

When my wine-loving friend from out of town asked me where to drink around the East Hollywood area, I immediately answered, “Covell.”

Located right by the Barnsdall Art Park, Covell is one of my go-to spots for an intimate, cozy, relaxed sipping experience.

It’s a nice spot to go with a few friends, too, because they also have great craft beer options for non-wine-lovers.

On the side, you can order a charcuterie board or some olives and almonds to spice things up on your palette even further.

Wife and the Somm

3416 Verdugo Rd, Glassell Park, CA 90065
Phone: (323) 739-0058
Visit Website

Wife and the Somm is one of the best wine bars in Los Angeles for a comprehensively impressive date night, as you’ll get both excellent wine and memorable, upscale dishes.

Some highlights here include sausage pappardelle, foraged mushrooms, and cured salmon.

Regarding the wine at this Glassell Park bar, you’ll have more options than you’ll need.

But I personally love their list of red wines, from Viberti Langhe Nebbiolo to Hendry Pinot Noir to Domaine Deliance Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise..

Wally’s Beverly Hills

447 N Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
Phone: (310) 475-3540
Visit Website

Wally’s Beverly Hills, located near The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum, is a perfect bar for wine and cheese fanatics like myself.

It’s not the cheapest place to go, which is expected for Beverly Hills, but it’s one of the most fun places to get drinks with friends, as you can mix and match your wine and cheese orders to get your hands on a variety of delectable tastes.

Plus, they use truffle sauce on many of their menu items, so if you’re a fan of truffle sauce, you’d be remiss not to stop at Wally’s.

Melanie Wine Bar

8310 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048
Phone: (323) 592-3390
Visit Website

Melanie Wine Bar is another top-end wine-focused restaurant located in Beverly Grove near the 3rd/Sweetzer bus stop.

I appreciate this wine bar because of the attentive and highly knowledgeable staff.

They’re always willing to help you pick out a bottle or suggest food pairings if you don’t know what to get.

The menu here is also one to write home about, offering steaks, cheeses, scallops, and delicious desserts.

Holcomb

5535 York Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90042
Phone: (323) 739-0072
Visit Website

Holcomb is a lively wine bar and restaurant in the Highland Park area near the Montecito Heights Recreation Center.

The atmosphere here is very romantic and cozy, making it an excellent spot to bring your significant other.

I love that they have various options for both types of drinkers -wine and beer fans alike.

The food here is also great, with dishes like steak tartare and roasted carrots.

And if you’re a non-drinker looking to fit in with the table, you can try the O’Douls Alcohol-Free Lager.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar

1314 7th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Phone: (310) 899-6900
Visit Website

Esters Wine Shop & Bar, in the Downtown area near Santa Monica Tennis Club, is a stylish and trendy spot for all types of wine to drink and small plate dishes to nibble on.

Their charcuterie board is one of my favorites in the city because they fill it up to the brim and don’t skimp on servings – especially if you ask for a larger board.

I’d describe the atmosphere here as chill and relaxed, especially in the outdoor patio area.

Melody

751 N Virgil Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029
Phone: (323) 922-6037
Visit Website

Melody is another cool wine bar with a relaxing outdoor patio located in East Hollywood near the Virgil Market and Bellevue Recreation Center.

After a long day of working, shooting, performing, or just exploring, Melody is an excellent place to retreat.

You’ll be met with friendly staff and incredible natural wines.

Something I really appreciate about Melody is that their dinner menu is rotating, so you never know what you might get – be it Italian, Indian, or else.

Good Clean Fun

868 S Olive St, Los Angeles, CA 90014
Visit Website

Good Clean Fun is named as such because they specialize in natural wine, which is made without the use of chemicals and additives.

This makes it a fantastic spot for those looking to drink responsibly and healthily.

And in addition to relatively healthier wine options, Good Clean Fun also has an incredible food menu with dishes that include flavorful, fresh, colorful ingredients.

Bar Bandini

2150 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Visit Website

Bar Bandini is a seductive, inviting wine and craft beer bar near the Public Art “Lady of the Lake” landmark.

They specialize in natural wines, Saisons on tap, and sour beers, all alongside tasty small plates.

It has a sleek and soothing design, and the bartenders are supreme. And if you can’t tell from my description, it’s an ideal date spot!
