Five Points is one of downtown San Jose’s most popular craft cocktail bars. All of the flavors, ingredients & ideas behind both their food & drink menus are firmly rooted & inspired by the legendary Five Points, New York.
My favorite drink is the Off On a Comet with strawberry-infused calvados, st. george spiced pear, lemon sherbet, peychaud’s. Or you can try the Southern Star, The Green Ray, and Baltimore Gun Club.

Haberdasher specializes in the finest craft cocktails in a uniquely sexy and inviting basement atmosphere. We stand firmly against the notion that great cocktails can only come from snooty, mustachioed mixologists, and invite you to experience our hospitality with an escape to our happy little cocktail lounge!
The Whiskey Ginger was absolutely delicious and had Tullamore DEW Irish Whiskey, house ginger soda. Keep it simple and bubbly. Other great cocktails I tried were the Paloma, Pimm’s Cup, and Beer Flip. This spot is a must-visit!

Paper Plane’s mission is to bring thoughtfully imagined cocktails and food in a relaxed lively atmosphere. Their pursuit is simple in concept and technical in design. In creating the drinks for their program they draw inspiration from and pay homage to the old school and new school eras of cocktail culture.
My friends tried the Magic Island, Mad World, and 1910 and loved them! I had the Here Comes the Sun with citadelle gin, aurora oloroso sherry, passion fruit, and milk shrub and it was delicious!
3rd & Bourbon

3rd and Bourbon (located on 3rd Street and West Santa Clara Street) is conveniently located in the Downtown core on the main street of San Jose.
Bourbon connoisseurs might start by perusing the large bourbon inventory and possibly ordering the Kentucky Buck. To go with your cocktails, there are some delectable small appetizers to choose from.
The bartender at this spot recommended the Alpine Fortune with Genepi alpine, Maraschino, grapefruit, lime, lemon bitters, rosemary, so I had to try it! The group of friends I was with ordered the Sol De Brasil, Valley Girl, and Aviation, Grapefruit And Thyme Martini, and The Drunken Munkey.

55 South is a craft cocktail bar and lounge located in the heart of downtown San Jose. The bar is a cool, bustling hangout featuring innovative cocktails, craft beer on tap & live entertainment.
My all time favorite drink at this spot is the Pisco Sour. It comes with pisco, fresh lemon juice, egg whites, aromatic bitters and is absolutely delicious! I also tried the State of Grace and Sidecar which were equally as good.

Dr. Funk provides an immersive experience complete with food offerings, an impressive cocktail lineup and décor by San Jose designer Notch Gonzalez.
The drink menu consists of a mix of classic tiki cocktails and original creations, including their namesake cocktail “Dr. Funk”—a potion of two rums, pomegranate, Herbsaint floral liqueur and citrus.
This spot has always been on my list of best bars. Whenever I’m here I get the same drink, the Shaman King. It comes with tequila, Suze Saveur d’Autrefois gentian apéritif, passion fruit, pineapple & citrus.

Katie Blooms Irish Pub Restaurant is a burgers & brews served in an Irish-themed pub with a dark, cozy interior & covered patio seating.
We dropped by this spot one night and had a blast! If you end up visiting this bar, I would try the Just Peachy, Gentleman’s Manhattan, or Stormy Delight.

MINIBOSS is a large industrial space with a selection of American bar food, vintage arcade games & cocktails.
If you stop by this place, I would recommend trying the Lulo Multipass; unaged brandy, creole shrubb, yuzu, lulo, lime, and malic acid.
Other drinks that caught my eye were the Dig Dug, Drop Dead Fredemption, and Like This and Like That. I’ll be ordering those next time I pop into this spot!

Located in the heart of downtown San Jose, original gravity offers 20 rotating taps of incredible beer & cider in addition to a mighty can & bottle selection. our menu is always fresh to death.
This spot served up some of the best drinks I’ve had and was so much fun. I came here with a group of friends and ordered the Flash Bang. My friends ordered the Famille and Lucky Day IPA.

The Fountainhead is an urban bar with architecturally themed cocktails made from high-end, small batch spirits and locally sourced ingredients. Menu is adjusted according to freshness and product availability. Premium wine and rotating local craft beers too.
We had so much fun at this place! My friends ordered the The Barragán and The Prairie, and I opted for the The Makintosh. My drink came with Glen Grant 12-Year Scotch, south bay spirits apple liqueur, cinnamon sugar, and apple garnish.

Los Gatos Soda Works is a specialty cocktail bar and restaurant that combines the rich history of cocktail culture with state of the art equipment and techniques.
Bringing a unique and stylish drinking establishment to the South Bay Area, Los Gatos Soda Works not only provides its patrons with quality cocktails but an array of small plates and apps designed to entice and intrigue.
I really loved the drink I ordered, Food 4 Thought with Suntory Japanese Whisky, Iichiko Shochu, honey crisp apple, genmaicha, and Drambuie. Our bartender also recommended a few of the other drinks on the menu; Inside Job, High Fashion, and Elephants of Parade.
Sidecar Modern Tavern

Sidecar Modern Tavern is a neighborhood spot, serving hand-crafted cocktails & small plates using fresh & locally sourced ingredients. The establishment is dedicated to providing a fun place to share food and drinks.
I highly recommend trying the Gin & House Made Tonic, Holy Mole`, and All The Amaro’s!. My favorite cocktail was the Pretty In Pink with vodka, lilet-rose, fresh grapefruit, lemon, soda & peach bitters.
G6 Lounge & Restaurant

G6 Lounge & Restaurant specializes in making the customers feel comfortable like they are having a party at home. They are well known as a modern bar with exceptional services from our employees. They also provide many different kinds of drink that you will love.
IThis is one of the most popular bars in the area, so you’ll be sure to have a good time. I ordered a few drinks, but my favorite ended up being the Old Fashioned.

San Pedro Square Market Bar is an informal, loft-like watering hole with classic & unique cocktails, craft beers and local wines. A mainstay in downtown San Jose, Market bar is a place where local residents gather to drink and socialize.
If you’re looking for one of the best spots to go out for drinks, this is the spot! I had the Camillarita with Serrano infused tequila, mango purée, agave, triple sec, and lime juice with a tajin rim.

The Vesper is an American craft cocktail bar focused on artisan cocktails and delicious food. Owners Jim & Angelique Stump also own The Table in Willow Glen and Forthright on W. Campbell Ave.
This place is one of my favorites! I came here with a group of co-workers and had a great time. I ordered the East of Eden with japapeno & cucumber-infused vodka, thyme, chareau, sugar, Regan’s bitters and loved it.
Tessora’s Barra di Vino

Located in the heart of Downtown Campbell, Tessora’s is the South Bay’s “ultimate” wine bar experience.
Offering a dynamic wine menu with over 20 International as well as Domestic varietals, by the glass and by the bottle for retail. Our amazing selection of Artisan Craft and Draft beer is on tap or by the bottle and always growing and are available to take home.
When I came to this spot my friends ordered the Guinness “Draught” Stout, North Coast “Old Rasputin” Stout, and Madewest Brewing Company Hazy IPA. I went for the Chimay “Trappist Red” Dark Ale which was absolutely amazing.
Sheperd & Sims

Shepherd & Sims is Hot Behind You’s newest concept by Silicon Valley restauranteurs Jim & Angelique Stump. This innovative concept will be a lovely place for the community to come together and enjoy excellent meals and each other’s companionship.
On my visit I tried the Southern Bell with rocket vodka, pimms, lemon, grapefruit, chambord, ginger, and orange bitters. It was absolutely amazing so I definitely recommend ordering this. Other drinks that sounded great were the manhattan, across the bog, and cats pajamas.
