Miami, Florida, is a place where the sand, sun, and sea unite in perfect harmony. People from all over the globe visit Magic City to experience the vibrant culture, stunning beaches, and unparalleled nightlife.

If you’re hoping to step back in time and experience some of Miami’s rich history of oldest bars while simultaneously enjoying some of the most fun places to go out, then look no further than the city’s oldest bars.

Check out my list of the oldest bars in Miami so you know where to get a drink the next time you’re in this amazing city!

Churchill’s Pub

Churchill’s Pub is a no-frills sports bar, live music venue, and all-around nightspot running since 1979.

Located near Morningside Park, this iconic dive bar features a range of music performances, from jazz to rock to alternative and beyond, so you can check the events before going or just be in for a surprise!

Whether going for your favorite band or checking out an open mic night, you’ll surely have fun meeting a neighborhood local and drinking ice-cold domestic beers in this friendly pub.

Duffy’s Tavern

2108 SW 57th Ave, Miami, FL 33155
Phone: (305) 264-6580
Visit Website

Since 1955, Duffy’s Tavern has stayed as one of the most fun places to get drinks in the West Miami area due to its Irish-inspired pub vibes, cozy booths, colorful decor, and great location by Ferdinand Park.

I love coming to this old pub to watch a sports game or hang out with friends and catch up in a casual yet vibrant setting.

I recommend ordering one of their staple burgers, like the Blue Burger with blue cheese dressing, as they go swimmingly with any of their beers on tap.

The Bar

172 Giralda Ave, Coral Gables, FL 33134
Phone: (305) 442-2730
Visit Website

Only one of the oldest bars in Miami, a city known for its iconic nightlife, would be able to get away with simply calling itself “The Bar.”

This classic, timeless neighborhood joint near Pittman Park offers bar staples like burgers, fries, and wings.

However, it’s not just any old bar. The Bar also puts on weekly events like live music performances and DJs and offers fun things to do throughout the week, such as karaoke and board games.

Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine

3555 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135
Phone: (305) 444-0240
Visit Website

Some bars are simply bars while others are iconic landmarks, and Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine, near Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North, certainly fits into the latter category.

This 1971 bar has an appealing, vintage vibe with chandeliers hanging from the spacious dining room ceilings.

I was wondering whether people were right about it having the best Cuban food in Miami, and after trying it, I have to agree!

The ham and beef empanadas are to die for, especially when paired with their Cuban Mojitos.

Mac’s Club Deuce

222 14th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Phone: (305) 531-6200
Visit Website

Located between Miami South Beach and South Beach United Stadium, Mac’s Club Deuce is an easygoing watering hole that’s perfect for spending hours on end with a great group of buddies.

Established in 1926, it’s certainly one of the oldest bars in Miami, and it’s still running for great reasons.

It has a loveable, casual dive bar vibe, pool tables, a vibrant happy hour, and an overall nostalgic feel that makes even the younger crowd miss the “good old days.”

Grab a classic drink like a Jack and Coke and have a fun, no-frills evening at Mac’s.

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.

Written by Paul Kushner

I have always had a deep interest in the restaurant and bar industry. My restaurant experience began in 1997 at the age of 14 as a bus boy. By the time I turned 17 I was serving tables, and by 19 I was bartending/bar managing 6-7 nights a week.

In 2012, after a decade and a half of learning all facets of the industry, I opened my first restaurant/bar. In 2015, a second location followed, the latter being featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
