If you’re hoping to find a bar where you can get nice drinks and delicious seafood, check out The Olde Bar, near Spruce Street Harbor Park.

It has an old-school yet highly sophisticated vibe that caters to people of all ages.

There are so many good things on the menu that it’s hard to recommend just a few, but you’d be remiss not to try their lobster roll or their oysters.

Cherry St. Tavern

129 N 22nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Cherry St. Tavern is a historic tavern by Coxe Park.

It’s one of the oldest bars in Philadelphia, and when you arrive, you can see why it has stood the test of time.

The old-school atmosphere makes you feel nostalgic and warm, and the delicious drinks and brews top it all off.

I recommend chowing down a roast beef sandwich alongside their soup of the day and washing it down with one of their draft beers.

McGillin’s Olde Ale House

1310 Drury St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
Phone: (215) 735-5562
Visit Website

McGillin’s Olde Ale House, near The Wanamaker Building and Philadelphia City Hall, is notably the oldest pub continually operating in all of Philly. Impressive, right?

There’s a lot to love about McGillin’s, but I think it’s one of the most fun places to get drinks in town, not just because of its historical nature but because of its delicious pub grub and an array of beers.

I love getting either beer samplers when I’m with a few friends or pitchers of beer when I’m with many.

I also recommend their delicious cheesesteak!

The Mask and Wig Club

310 Quince St, Philadelphia, PA 19107
Phone: (215) 716-7378
Visit Website

The Mask and Wig Club is where to get a drink and a comedy performance in one go.

This bar and comedy club in Center City hosts the oldest all-male comedy troupe in the whole country!

So you’re bound to have a few laughs if you attend.

I love checking out the rotating calendar of events to see which show I might attend, but you can never go wrong here! I always have a great night.

McNally’s Tavern CHESTNUT HILL

8634 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118
Phone: (215) 247-9736
Visit Website

McNally’s Tavern is one of the most fun places to go out in the Chestnut Hill area of Philly.

It has an authentically old-school vibe that’s simultaneously cozy, trendy, charming, and family-friendly, which is a challenging combination to achieve, I’d say!

I like hitting up this spot for a few casual beers and maybe a cheesesteak if I’m hungry.

And they have an extensive list of beer and wine too, which I appreciate.

Please drink responsibly, be fully accountable with your alcohol consumption, and show others respect.

Written by Paul Kushner

I have always had a deep interest in the restaurant and bar industry. My restaurant experience began in 1997 at the age of 14 as a bus boy. By the time I turned 17 I was serving tables, and by 19 I was bartending/bar managing 6-7 nights a week.

In 2012, after a decade and a half of learning all facets of the industry, I opened my first restaurant/bar. In 2015, a second location followed, the latter being featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
