  • 8 ounces bourbon
  • 24 ounces vanilla almond milk
  • 2 ounces honey
  • 24 ounces hot water
  • 0.25 ounce vanilla extract
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 green cardamom pods crushed
  • 4 whole allspice berries crushed
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 whole cinnamon sticks
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the hot water, tea bags, crushed spices, cinnamon sticks, ground nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla extract.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and let it infuse.
  • Stir in the vanilla almond milk and honey, whisking to ensure everything is well combined.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the chai tea steep for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the tea bags and spices, leaving only the spiced liquid.
  • Transfer the strained chai tea to a heatproof serving pitcher and stir in the bourbon.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • For an extra rich flavor, use whole or spiced almond milk if available.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of nutmeg for a festive touch.
