Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bacan Guaro twenty-four
  • 3 oz warm apple cider
  • .5 oz honey simple syrup
  • .5 oz lemon juice
  • apple slices for garnish
  • cocktail pick

Honey Simple Syrup:

Instructions

Honey Simple Syrup:

  • Add the honey and water to a small saucepan.
  • Let it come to a light boil, then turn down the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes while occasionally stirring
  • Turn off the heat and let cool completely before transferring to an airtight container

Cocktail:

  • First we will warm up the apple cider (you can also use apple juice if preferred) If using the microwave, start with 1 minute and continue heating in 30 second intervals until desired temperature. If using the stovetop, use a small saucepan and heat on low until it starts steaming.
  • Add your Bacan Guaro to a heat-safe glass or mug. Then add the honey simple syrup and lemon juice. Lastly add your warmed apple cider and give it a stir
  • For an optional garnish, slice three thin apple slices, stack them and stick a cocktail pick through one end. Gently fan out the apple slices and place in glass. You can also garnish with a lemon wheel, cinnamon stick, or star anise pod.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your Hot Bacan Cider!

Pro Tips

  • Don’t boil the cider. Steaming hot is perfect. Boiling can flatten the flavor.
  • Use a heat-safe mug. Thin glass can crack with hot cider.
  • Add Bacan Guaro after warming the cider, not during. This keeps the spirit flavor clean and prevents harsh alcohol notes.
