This cocktail, inspired by Taylor Swift, blends the effervescence of champagne with the tang of citrus and the floral notes of lavender. Perfect for celebrations or just a touch of everyday luxury, here’s how to make the Champagne Problems Cocktail.

  • 1 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz lavender simple syrup
  • Champagne fill your glass, you can use an affordable champagne brand
  • Juice of half lemon
  • Lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Lavender Simple Syrup:

  • If you don’t have lavender simple syrup, it’s easy to make. Just combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 2 tbsp dried lavender in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer until the sugar dissolves.
  • Let it cool, then strain out the lavender.
  • Store in a clean bottle in the refrigerator.

Mix the Cocktail:

  • In a shaker filled with ice, combine the lemon juice, gin, grapefruit juice, and lavender simple syrup.
  • Shake well until the mixture is well chilled, about 15 seconds.
  • Prepare Your Glass: Fill a champagne flute or a tall glass with ice (optional, for a colder drink).
  • Combine:
  • Strain the mixture from the shaker into your prepared glass.
  • Top off with champagne, gently pouring it to fill the glass. The champagne will mix with the other ingredients as you pour, creating a beautiful layering effect.
