Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • About a cup of fresh ginger root peeled and thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Combine the water and sugar in a small pot.
  • Heat the mixture on medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the sliced ginger to the pot.
  • Let the mix simmer (cook on low heat) for about 30 minutes. This lets the ginger flavor really get into the syrup.
  • Take the pot off the heat and let it cool.
  • Strain the syrup to remove the ginger pieces. Now, your ginger syrup is ready to use!
