Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 0.75 oz lime juice
  • 4 oz kombucha
  • 2 kumquats thinly sliced
  • 0.25 oz agave syrup
  • Salt for rimming the glass
  • Lime slice for garnish

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip the rim in salt.
  • Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, agave syrup, and kumquat slices to a shaker with ice.
  • Shake well, about 10–15 seconds.
  • Strain into a salt-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with kombucha and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a lime slice.

Notes

Pro Tips

  • Choose a kombucha that’s not overly sweet. Citrus or ginger flavors work especially well.
  • If your kumquats are very tart, you can muddle them first in the shaker before adding the other ingredients.
  • Adjust the agave syrup depending on your sweetness preference.
  • For a cleaner sip, strain out the kumquat slices, or leave them in for a bolder flavor and look.
