Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 2 oz mango juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 3 dashes bitters
  • 6 mint leaves
  • Mint sprig for garnish
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • In a double old fashioned glass, muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup and lime juice to release the mint’s flavor.
  • Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice.
  • Pour in the white rum and mango juice.
  • Using a bar spoon, swizzle the ingredients by spinning the spoon between your palms until the mixture is well combined and frothy.
  • Add more crushed ice to fill the glass and top with 4 dashes of bitters.
  • Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and a lime wheel. Serve immediately.

Pro Tips

  • For the best results, muddle the mint gently to avoid bruising the leaves, which can release bitter flavors.
  • Adjust the amount of bitters to your taste. A little goes a long way in balancing the sweetness of the mango.
  • For a richer flavor, try using dark rum as a variation.
