Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 1.5 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • Orange slice and cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, stir together tamarind paste and hot water until fully dissolved. Let cool to room temperature.
  • Add the tamarind mixture, bourbon, lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake thoroughly until well chilled.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.

Notes

Pro Tips

  • Strain the tamarind mixture through a fine mesh if it’s too pulpy.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding a touch more simple syrup if needed tamarind paste can vary in tartness.
