Instructions
Prepare the Glass:
If you like, you can rim your glass with salt or sugar. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip it into a plate of salt or sugar.
Mix the Drink:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Pour the tequila, lime juice, crème de violette, and simple syrup over the ice.
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This mixes the ingredients well and chills the drink.
Serve:
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. You can either serve it over fresh ice or strain it into a chilled glass for a "straight up" margarita.
Garnish with a slice of lime on the rim or float an edible violet flower on top for an extra special touch.
