Equipment

Ingredients

  • 7 cups seedless watermelon cubed (divided)
  • 750 ml Moscato wine
  • 1 cup vodka
  • ½ cup triple sec
  • 1 medium lime thinly sliced
  • 1 medium orange thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Prepare the Watermelon Juice:
  • Take about 3 cups of the cubed watermelon and blend it until smooth. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp and seeds, if necessary.
  • Mix the Sangria:
  • In a large pitcher, combine the Moscato wine, vodka, and triple sec. Stir in the freshly strained watermelon juice. Mix well to ensure all the alcohol and juice are well combined.
  • Add Fruits and Remaining Watermelon:
  • Add the sliced lime and orange to the pitcher. Then add the remaining 4 cups of watermelon cubes.
  • Chill:
  • Refrigerate the sangria for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the fruit to soak up some of the alcohol.
  • Serve:
  • Serve the sangria chilled, with plenty of the fruit and watermelon cubes in each glass. If desired, add a splash of soda water to each serving for a little fizz.
  • Garnish (Optional):
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of lime on the rim of the glass for an extra touch of summer.
