In a shaker or mixing glass, muddle the mint leaves with the sugar and lime juice until the sugar dissolves and the mint is aromatic.
If you prefer a smoother cocktail, strain out the muddled mint leaves before proceeding.
Add the white rum, coconut rum, and coconut milk to the shaker, stirring or shaking gently to combine.
Fill a glass halfway with ice, then pour in the coconut rum mixture until the glass is about three-quarters full.
Top with sparkling water for a light, bubbly finish.
Garnish with extra mint leaves and a sprinkle of pomegranate arils for a festive look.
