Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries plus extra for garnish
  • 10-12 sage leaves plus extra for garnish
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups gin
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 cups club soda chilled

Instructions

  • Make the Blueberry Sage Syrup:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of blueberries, sugar, water, and sage leaves.
  • Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the blueberries are soft and the syrup is slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and allow it to cool. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the solids, pressing on the berries and sage leaves to extract all the flavors.
  • Prepare the Punch:
  • In a large punch bowl, combine the strained blueberry sage syrup, gin, and lemon juice. Stir well to mix.
  • Add ice cubes to the bowl to chill the mixture.
  • Just before serving, gently stir in the club soda to maintain its fizz.
  • Serve:
  • Ladle the punch into glasses filled with more ice cubes.
  • Garnish each glass with fresh blueberries and a few sage leaves.
  • Enjoy!
  • This punch is best served fresh and can be kept in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before adding the club soda.
