In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of blueberries, sugar, water, and sage leaves.
Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the blueberries are soft and the syrup is slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and allow it to cool. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the solids, pressing on the berries and sage leaves to extract all the flavors.
Prepare the Punch:
In a large punch bowl, combine the strained blueberry sage syrup, gin, and lemon juice. Stir well to mix.
Add ice cubes to the bowl to chill the mixture.
Just before serving, gently stir in the club soda to maintain its fizz.
Serve:
Ladle the punch into glasses filled with more ice cubes.
Garnish each glass with fresh blueberries and a few sage leaves.
Enjoy!
This punch is best served fresh and can be kept in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before adding the club soda.
