Try the First-Time Caller cocktail for a unique twist on the classic Old Fashioned. Make it now.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 ounces Jamaican Rum (Aged)
  • 1/4 ounce Crème De Cacao
  • 1/4 ounce Banana Liqueur
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Orange twist and Cherries for garnish

Instructions

  • Chill the Glass:
  • Begin by chilling an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice, and set it aside for a few minutes.
  • Mix the Ingredients:
  • In a mixing glass, combine the Jamaican rum, crème de cacao, and banana liqueur.
  • Add the two dashes of Angostura bitters to incorporate the traditional Old Fashioned flavor profile.
  • Stir:
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail slightly. This ensures a smooth taste.
  • Prepare the Glass:
  • Empty the ice from your Old Fashioned glass.
  • Optionally, you can express (squeeze to release oils) an orange twist inside the glass to coat it with a citrus note before adding the drink.
  • Strain:
  • Strain the cocktail into the chilled Old Fashioned glass over a large ice cube. Using a large cube slows down the dilution, keeping your drink strong and flavorful longer.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Garnish with an orange twist and a skewer of cherries.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the deep, complex flavors with a tropical nuance.
