Ingredients

  • 1.5 ounces dark rum
  • 1 ounce habanero ginger simple syrup
  • 3 ounces apple cider plus more for rimming the glass
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon for rimming the glass
  • 1 teaspoon sugar for rimming the glass
  • Sliced apple for garnish

Instructions

  • On a small plate, mix together the cinnamon and coarse sugar. Lightly brush the rim of your cocktail glass with a bit of apple cider, then dip the rim into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat it evenly.
  • Fill the prepared glass with ice and set aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the habanero ginger simple syrup, apple cider, and dark rum.
  • Shake vigorously until well combined and chilled. Pour the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass.
  • Garnish with a slice of fresh apple for a crisp, aromatic finish.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the fiery, sweet, and spiced flavors of this unique fall cocktail.

Notes

Pro Tips

  • Make the habanero ginger simple syrup by simmering sliced habanero, fresh ginger, sugar, and water, then straining once cooled.
  • Adjust the heat level by using more or less habanero in the syrup.
