Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz coconut cream
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz lemongrass-infused simple syrup
  • 1 thin slice of galangal or fresh ginger as a substitute
  • 1 small pinch ground turmeric
  • Kaffir lime leaf or lemongrass stalk for garnish

Instructions

  • In a shaker, muddle the thin slice of galangal with the lemongrass syrup to release its aromatic oils.
  • Add gin, coconut cream, lime juice, and a pinch of turmeric.
  • Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds to fully incorporate the flavors and create a smooth texture.
  • Fine strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • Float a kaffir lime leaf or place a lemongrass stalk for an exotic, aromatic finish.

Pro Tips

  • Use fresh turmeric for a more vibrant flavor and color. Muddle a small slice along with the galangal.
  • Blend two gins—a London Dry for structure and a floral or citrus-forward gin for added complexity.
  • Chill the coconut cream beforehand for a silkier texture in the cocktail.
