Begin by placing an Old Fashioned glass in the freezer to chill while you prepare your drink.
Combine Ingredients:
In a mixing glass, combine the bourbon, peanut butter whiskey, crème de cacao (or chocolate whiskey), chocolate bitters, and cherry bark vanilla bitters if using.
Fill the mixing glass with ice, reaching about three-quarters full.
Stir Well:
Stir the mixture gently yet thoroughly for about 30 seconds. This method ensures that your drink is well-chilled and slightly diluted, smoothing out the strong flavors.
Prepare the Glass:
Remove the Old Fashioned glass from the freezer.
Optionally, you can rub a small amount of peanut butter on the rim or add a thin layer at the bottom of the glass for an extra peanut butter flavor.
Strain the Drink:
Strain the cocktail into the chilled Old Fashioned glass over a large ice cube. A large cube melts slower, keeping your drink cool without diluting it too quickly.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. You can place it on the rim of the glass or on a small skewer.
Optionally, add a small drizzle of melted peanut butter over the top for a dramatic effect.
