A drink that combines the robust flavors of red wine with the zest of a classic margarita.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces red wine
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 2 ounces sour mix
  • 2 orange slices for garnish
  • 2 lemon slices for garnish
  • 2 lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix the Base:
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, orange juice, and sour mix.
  • Add a handful of ice to chill the mixture without diluting it too much.
  • Shake It Up:
  • Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to integrate all the flavors beautifully and chill the mixture.
  • Prepare the Glass:
  • Rim a large glass with salt (optional), and fill it halfway with ice cubes.
  • Add Wine:
  • Pour the red wine over the ice, creating a layer at the bottom of the glass for a distinctive look.
  • Pour the Margarita Mixture:
  • Slowly pour the shaken margarita mixture over the back of a spoon onto the wine layer to help maintain the separation between the wine and the margarita mix and enhance the looks of the drink.
  • Garnish and Serve:
  • Garnish with slices of orange, lemon, and lime on the rim or floated atop the drink to add a refreshing aroma and a colorful finish.
  • Enjoy:
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the fusion of flavors in your Sangria Margarita.
