Named after Bublé’s grandparents, Fraser & Thompson is a collaboration between the singer and celebrated master distiller Paul Cirka of Heaven Hill Distillery in Seattle. According to a press release, Bublé said “I’ve always been a whiskey guy, but I knew I wanted to do something unique and special, which is why I partnered with Paul Cirka.”
Cirka is known for his award-winning whiskeys and as one of the most respected American distillers. For Fraser & Thompson, he crafted a blend of bourbon, rye, and Canadian whiskies that were aged for up to 12 years in charred American oak barrels. The result is a smooth and approachable whiskey with notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak according to tasting notes.
The whiskey will have an initial limited release in select stores in the United States and Canada as well as on beverage alcohol e-commerce site Reserve Bar at a suggested retail price of $49.99 according to a Rolling Stone article. Bublé has said he hopes the brand will grow over time as more stock is aged.
In addition to the quality liquid inside, Fraser & Thompson whiskey bottles also feature distinctive engraved artwork of Bublé’s grandparents on the front label. A post on Bublé’s Instagram from September 2022 showed him holding the bottle and stated he was “excited for our new project.”
The launch of Fraser & Thompson marks Bublé’s first major venture outside of music. But it’s not the first time he’s shown his love of whiskey. He’s previously partnered with Jack Daniel’s to honor Frank Sinatra on what would’ve been his 100th birthday according to a 2013 Facebook post.
With his popularity as a multiple diamond-certified artist and his attention to quality, Fraser & Thompson whiskey seems poised to be welcomed by Bublé’s many fans as well as whiskey enthusiasts. The singer hopes the brand becomes a way to honor his family’s legacy for generations.
