Discover the bold flavors of Caffè Corretto, a classic Italian coffee with a twist of grappa. Perfect for a spirited coffee break.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce espresso or 30 ml
  • 1 ounce grappa or 30 ml

Instructions

  • Brew the Espresso:
  • Start by brewing a strong shot of espresso.
  • If you have an espresso machine, follow its instructions to pull a perfect shot. Otherwise, you can use a stovetop Moka pot to make a strong coffee that’s close to espresso.
  • Add the Grappa:
  • Pour the shot of grappa directly into the hot espresso. The traditional way is to serve the espresso in a small espresso cup and then add the grappa to it.
  • Stir Gently:
  • With a small spoon, gently stir the grappa into the espresso to ensure they’re well combined.
  • Serve Immediately:
  • Caffè Corretto is best enjoyed immediately while it’s still warm and the aromas are most vibrant.
  • Enjoy your own Caffè Corretto!

Notes

Grappa Selection: The choice of grappa can significantly affect the taste of your Caffè Corretto. Experiment with different brands or ages of grappa to find your favorite combination.
Adjust to Taste: The ratio of espresso to grappa can be adjusted based on personal preference. Some might prefer a bit more coffee to soften the grappa’s kick.
