Cupid’s Requiem

This cocktail is inspired by a chocolate-covered strawberry that can be enjoyed this Valentine’s Day. It is a very complex cocktail that begins with a strong rum and strawberry flavour and finishes with a nice bitter bite from the chocolate liqueur. I made this cocktail with the intention of using homemade ingredients. The chocolate liqueur recipe I got from Kevin Kos (https://www.kevinkos.com/post/white-creme-de-cacao) (for convenience, I opted to use the blender method). For the strawberry syrup, I used a sous vide method to maintain a fresh strawberry flavour in the syrup. (Note: you may need to adjust the amount of syrup depending on which one you use)
