Lead Dog is perfect for those who enjoy a fruit-forward beer, and I think it goes swimmingly alongside a bratwurst or grilled chicken leg at a barbecue. Keep in mind, however, that it has a cult-like following, so when you can get your hands on it, don’t wait too long to purchase!
Coronado Orange Ave. Wit
Coronado Orange Ave. Wit is delicious, as it incorporates the classic Belgian witbier style with the bright flavors of oranges. It’s wheaty, fruity, tangy, zesty, and even slightly spicy and sweet with hints of coriander and orange blossom honey – what more could you ask for? Plus, I find its hazy appearance highly attractive, especially for sitting back and relaxing on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

I may be biased, but I love this complex, hazy beer throughout the year!

Tempest Marmalade is one of my favorite orange beers. It truly stands out from the crowd with its rich, malty base of rye and hints of caramel, combined with the tangy sweetness of marmalade, which is notoriously challenging to brew due to its short life. While many orange beers are nice in the summer and spring, I like sipping the Tempest on a chilly evening by the fire.

Ommegang Witte, brewed with both orange peel and coriander, holds an intriguing taste that’s simply hard for me to resist. I love sharing it with friends at a holiday gathering, as it’s always well-received and has a session-able ABV and feel.
