American vodkas are a popular choice for those who enjoy a smooth, crisp and versatile spirit. Made from a variety of grains such as corn, wheat, and rye, American vodkas are known for their clean taste and high-quality ingredients. Unlike traditional vodkas from Russia and Poland, these vodkas tend to be sweeter and more approachable, making them a great choice for both sipping and mixing into cocktails.

If you’re someone who enjoys experimenting with different cocktail recipes, American-made vodkas are a must-try. They offer a wide range of flavors and can be used in everything from classic martinis to fruity, tropical drinks.
Tito's Handmade Vodka
Originating in Austin, Texas, in the mid-90s, Titos is now an award-winning brand. Tito’s Handmade Vodka uses corn and water for its artisanal, small-batch, gluten-free bottles. The beauty of Tito’s is that it’s perfect in its simplicity, with a smooth and ultra-pure flavor and texture. I always request Tito’s vodka for my dirty martinis.Â
Hangar One
Hangar 1 is a San Francisco-based distillery that produces numerous vodkas. Their vodka combines wine grapes with high-quality grains from the Midwest for a vodka with floral and fruity notes. Hangar One Vodka is a smooth, slightly sweet vodka that distinguishes itself from the harsher tasting vodkas characteristic of American distilleries. With fruity and floral tones, this vodka tastes great in a vodka-spiked lemonade with mint.Â
Kirkland American Vodka
Kirkland is the proprietary brand of Costco, the wildly successful wholesale warehouse superstore. Kirkland has an entire line of spirits, including French, American, and Russian vodkas. Their American vodka is six times distilled and is the cheapest option. It has a strong bite and a watery mouthfeel. I’d pair it with a strong mixer like cranberry juice. Â
Stateside Vodka
Stateside Vodka is a highly decorated brand, receiving praise from Thrillist, Vice, Eater, Spirit, and more. Having only started in 2013 by two brothers new to the vodka industry, Stateside Vodka has quickly shot through the ranks. Stateside Vodka is seven times distilled, using water and alcohol in a cold-pressed filter system. It’s the smoothest on my list and the best for sipping neat.
OYO Vodka
Middle West’s flagship spirit, OYO Vodka, uses Ohio soft red winter wheat to produce a unique vodka that uses no filtering. They pride themselves on their unfiltered vodka, which produces a very harsh bite with flavor notes of honey gelato and minerals. If you’re a fan of strong-tasting spirits, OYO Vodka is your best bet.Â
Spring44
Spring 44 is a distilling company out of Loveland, Colorado, in the heart of the Rockies. They use Rocky Mountain spring water mixed with corn alcohol to create crystal clear, smooth, and pure vodka. The utterly silky mouthfeel is what sets it apart from the rest. I also like the subtly sweet finish. I enjoy it with soda and lime. Â
Tuthilltown Indigenous Fresh Pressed Apple Vodka
Tuthilltown is a distillery out of New York’s Hudson Valley known for its plentiful apple orchards. Indigenous Vodka is the marriage of Hudson’s cider industry with Tuthilltown’s master vodka distillers. They use fresh Hudson Valley apples to first create a hard cider, and then the cider undergoes yet another distilling process to transform into vodka. This is a one-of-a-kind vodka with an amazing fruit-forward flavor.Â
New Amsterdam
New Amsterdam is one of the hottest new spirit distillers to come out of California in 2011. Their line of vodkas is the fastest selling in the US. It is cheap without sacrificing quality. New Amsterdam is five times distilled and three times filtered for a very smooth and soft flavor and texture. This is my go-to well drink for vodka cocktails.
Silver Dollar American Vodka
Silver Dollar American Vodka is a product of the Nevada Distilling Company out of Las Vegas. It is a small-batch copper-pot distilled vodka made with 100% corn and water and silver-filtered for clarity and smoothness. Silver Dollar American vodka has a sweet mineral flavor from the corn and copper vats. Its perfectly smooth, almost watery finish is completely undetectable in any mixed drink.Â
Barr Hill Vodka
Barr Hill Vodka is an artisanal, small-batch vodka from a Vermont distillery that uses raw honey and grain to create one of the most delicious vodkas you’ll ever taste. The double-distillation process preserves the honey and natural yeasts, which translate to a floral and sweet taste and the creamiest, smoothest vodka. This is a special spirit that’s well worth the price, in my opinion.Â
Humboldt Distillery Organic Vodka
Humboldt Distillery is one of the best-selling organic distilleries in its native state of California. Humboldt Distillery organic vodka is made with organic sugarcane, imparting a citrus and vanilla flavor with a clean finish. This vodka has no burn and leaves in the warmth. It’s also a brand with noble, eco-friendly principles any consumer will appreciate.Â
