Whether you’re a gin enthusiast on a budget or simply looking to expand your liquor collection without overspending, there are plenty of affordable choices available. From classic London dry gins to more modern botanical blends, there’s a wide variety of options to suit every palate and budget. Let’s explore the best cheap gin under $20 and discover some fantastic options that won’t disappoint.
Burnett's London Dry Gin
Burnett’s is a delightful gin that is perfect if you want a subtle juniper flavor balanced with a smooth taste. It is not a sweet or floral gin. Instead, it is straightforward. As a result of its clean flavor, I love using this gin in a martini or simple gin and tonic.
Gordon's London Dry Gin
Gordon’s is a delicious gin in any cocktail. It is a little more floral than Burnett’s. The taste has some layers while remaining classic. The complex flavors even mean this gin works on its own or over ice. While I love the simple flavor of the original Gordon’s, I find the flavored options delightful.
Seagram's Extra Dry Gin
Seagram’s is a solidly inoffensive gin that is a great choice for those new to this beverage. However, just because it is ideal for novices, that does not mean this brand is bad. Unlike other gins, this brand does not overdo anything. Its flavors are straightforward and ideal for martinis.
New Amsterdam Gin
New Amsterdam is a cheap gin brand with staying power. I love using this gin as my go-to basic gin if I know I want to make cocktails without a heavy gin flavor. While there is some juniper, it is not excessively powerful. While this does not make a bad martini or gin and tonic, I love it in mixed drinks.
Prairie Organic Gin
Prairie Organic Gin is a great choice if you want a simple and cheap organic option. This gin has some botanical elements to the flavor that balances nicely with its smooth taste. There is not a ton of juniper, but it is citrusy, making it ideal for summer.
Georgi London Dry Gin
Georgi Gin is one of my favorites, thanks to its unique blend of balanced flavors. Juniper packs a big punch with assistance from fruit and spices. The complexity of this gin makes it ideal on its own. However, it is also fantastic with tonic water or in a simple cocktail with complimentary ingredients.
Gilbey's Gin
This brand may be less well-known than others on this list, but it should not be overlooked. Gilbey’s is a solid cheap gin with a reliable combination of flavors, including juniper at the forefront. It is not an overly complex gin, making it ideal in mixed drinks and alone.
Starr Blu
Starr Blu does not have a complicated flavor or delicate botanicals. However, it is a solid, mild gin that works for gin and tonics and other mixed drinks. This gin is usually one of my top choices if I need to make batched cocktails.
