  • Place the cherries, lime juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle the mixture to release the juices from the cherries.
  • Add basil leaves and gently press them with the muddler to release their aroma without tearing the leaves.
  • Pour in the gin and add ice to the shaker.
  • Shake until the mixture is well chilled.
  • Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with club soda and garnish with a basil leaf or cherry.
